Mon Oct 13 202514:56Dalton Knecht Impresses Offensively, Must Improve Defense to Earn Key Role
Los Angeles Lakers small forward Dalton Knecht has turned heads in training camp, with head coach JJ Redick calling him the team's best offensive performer so far. Knecht's scoring efficiency matched LeBron James with a 117 offensive rating last season. However, his defensive struggles remain a concern, as evidenced by his 118 defensive rating, one of the worst on the roster. With the Lakers entering their first full season featuring Luka Doncic and chasing another championship run, Knecht's ability to evolve into a more reliable two-way player could determine how large a role he earns in Redick's rotation.

Fri Jul 11 202515:06Dalton Knecht Avoids Serious Injury
Los Angeles Lakers guard Dalton Knecht (calf) was forced to make an early exit from Thursday's summer league contest against the Dallas Mavericks. Knecht appeared to have suffered some sort of knee or leg injury late in the game. After further evaluation, Knecht was diagnosed with a right calf cramp. This appears to be a minor issue, so Knecht should be available for Saturday's summer league contest. He finished this game with 16 points and four rebounds in 26 minutes of action. Last season, Knecht finished with 9.1 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 0.8 assists in 19.2 minutes per game in 78 contests. He'll probably play a similar if not reduced role this upcoming season.

On Tuesday, Los Angeles Lakers guardDalton Knecht finished with 25 points (9-18 FG, 4-8 3Pt, 3-4 FT) and eight rebounds in 29 minutes during Tuesday's 89-88 Summer League victory over the San Antonio Spurs. Tue Feb 11 202520:43Dalton Knecht Removed From Injury Report
Los Angeles Lakers guard Dalton Knecht (personal) has been removed from the injury report ahead of Wednesday's game against the Utah Jazz. Knecht returned to the Lakers after the trade that sent him to Charlotte fell through. He didn't play on Monday and it's unclear if Knecht is going to be a significant part of the rotation going forward. Before the trade, Knecht was averaging 9.4 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 0.9 assists across 20 minutes per game. The Lakers are without Dorian Finney-Smith (ankle) and Gabe Vincent (knee) on Wednesday, so Knecht could get a decent amount of minutes if he's actually active.

Sat Feb 8 202522:28Dalton Knecht Staying In Los Angeles
According to ESPN's Shams Charania, the trade between the Lakers and Hornets involving center Mark Williams and guard Dalton Knecht was rescinded. The deal was contingent on both players passing a physical. While Knecht had a clean bill of health, it was a different story for Williams. Per Charania, the Lakers medical staff discovered "multiple issues" during Williams' exam, none of which were related to his previous back injury. As far as Knecht is concerned, he'll head back to Los Angeles, a team that recently acquired Luka Doncic (calf) from the Mavericks in exchange for Anthony Davis (abdomen). The 23-year-old hasn't been a consistent fantasy option. But he has at least averaged 14.3 points, 5.0 rebounds, and shot 39.3% from deep in 12 starts. With that in mind, redraft managers likely won't receive routine production from Knecht moving ahead, although he should have at least a few solid outings before the end of the 2024-25 campaign.

Thu Feb 6 202509:17Dalton Knecht Traded To Charlotte
Rookie guard/forward Dalton Knecht will finish the season with the Charlotte Hornets, who acquired him in a trade with the Los Angeles Lakers. Veteran forward Cam Reddish also moves to Charlotte as part of the deal, while center Mark Williams heads to L.A. Knecht was the 17th pick of the 2024 NBA Draft by the Lakers and has shown glimpses of outstanding potential. However, with the Lakers in win-now mode and lacking frontcourt quality following the departure of Anthony Davis, Knecht has moved on. The 23-year-old has averaged 9.4 points and 3.1 rebounds for his rookie campaign. He could have a big finish to the season in Charlotte, with Brandon Miller (wrist) out for the rest of the year and LaMelo Ball (ankle) also on the shelf.

Wed Nov 27 202420:18Dalton Knecht Cleared To Suit Up Versus San Antonio
Los Angeles Lakers forward Dalton Knecht (quadriceps) will play on Wednesday evening versus the Spurs. The rookie entered this contest listed on the injury report because of a quad contusion. However, he's good to go. Knecht logged 19 minutes in Tuesday's loss to the Suns, scoring only seven points. With Cam Reddish (ankle) available, fantasy managers should expect more of the same from Knecht against San Antonio.
