Tue Aug 5 202507:39Ricky Council IV Joins Nets on One-Year Contract
Guard/forward Ricky Council IV will join the Brooklyn Nets as a free agent. According to ESPN's Shams Charania, Council IV agreed to a one-year deal. The 24-year-old became a free agent after being waived by the Philadelphia 76ers last month. Council IV showed some strong performances with the 76ers during the 2024-25 season but struggled with efficiency. He averaged 7.3 points and 2.9 rebounds in 17.1 minutes, shooting 38.2 percent from the field and 25.8 percent from behind the arc. With the Nets, Council IV needs to improve his shooting to earn regular playing time.

Sat Jul 26 202513:14Ricky Council IV Waived by Philadelphia
The Philadelphia 76ers waived guard Ricky Council IV. He spent the last two seasons with the Sixers, appearing in 105 regular-season contests. While the 23-year-old wasn't productive for the most part, he showed signs of promise by averaging 12.9 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 2.9 assists in 12 starts last season. There's a good chance Council will get signed by another team entering the 2025 campaign. However, he has a long way to go before earning a spot on most fantasy rosters, although he could gain streaming potential at some point during the year.

Mon Dec 23 202413:55Ricky Council IV Tagged As Questionable On Monday
Philadelphia 76ers guard Ricky Council IV (knee) is listed as questionable to face the San Antonio Spurs on Monday while he deals with some knee soreness. Even though Council's playing time is inconsistent, it's worth noting that Tyrese Maxey (illness - probable) was a late addition to the injury report, and Eric Gordon (face) is already ruled out. If Maxey can't battle the illness, Council would be in line for some added minutes if he can play. On the flip side, if Council is sidelined, Jeff Dowtin Jr. and Caleb Martin could see some added opportunities.
