Washington Wizards guard Justin Champagnie (illness) has been downgraded to questionable for Friday night's matchup against the Toronto Raptors. Champagnie is dealing with an illness and has been a steady presence in Washington's rotation since mid-November. If available he would be in a great spot for fantasy managers looking for rebounding production as he's grabbed nine or more boards in four of his last five games. If he's out, expect Marvin Bagley III to be leaned on more with Corey Kispert already ruled out. Bagley has put up 13 or more points in each of the last five games and could be a sneaky addition for DFS players.

Washington Wizards forward Justin Champagnie has a new long-term extension with the organization. The two sides have agreed on a four-year, $10 million contract, which will keep Champagnie in Washington for the foreseeable future. The 23-year-old is averaging 7.5 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 0.9 assists per game on 51 percent shooting from the field. He figures to play a bigger role in the rotation during the second half of the season with the Wizards out of playoff contention. The expectation is the Wizards will let their younger players like Champagnie get more run going forward. Right now, Champagnie isn't an ideal streaming option, but he could have more value soon.

The Boston Celtics waived guard/forward Justin Champagnie on Tuesday. The 22-year-old made a cameo during two games in Beantown late last season, totaling five points, four rebounds, and three assists in 23 minutes. Champagnie did see significant run during the Summer League, but apparently didn't leave strong enough of an impression to be kept around. While his brother Julian Champagnie bagged a long-term deal with the San Antonio Spurs earlier this summer, Justin instead sets his sights on finding a new home as bench depth. Regardless, he doesn't enter the 2023-2024 season in virtually any fantasy conversations.

Boston Celtics forward Justin Champagnie turned in his best game of the summer despite losing 98-103 to the Washington Wizards on Sunday. The Pitt product finished the game with 21 points, 12 rebounds, six assists, and one block on 8-for-17 shooting and 2-for-5 from beyond the arc. He saw some action in his rookie year with the Toronto Raptors but has since only a total of five games. The Celtics signed Champagnie after he was waived and it will be an uphill battle to stick on one of the deepest teams in the league.
