Tue Jan 1313:26Saddiq Bey Upgraded to Probable
New Orleans Pelicans forward Saddiq Bey (hip) was originally listed as doubtful, upgraded to questionable, and is now all the way up to probable for Tuesday's clash against the Denver Nuggets. He has missed the last six games since straining his right hip flexor on Dec. 31 against the Bulls. Before the injury, Bey was putting up good numbers for the Pels, averaging 15.1 points, 5.9 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 0.9 steals in 29.9 minutes per game. His return will likely reduce the role of Bryce McGowens, who has struggled in his absence.

Tue Jan 1308:24Saddiq Bey Could Be an Option Tuesday
New Orleans Pelicans forward Saddiq Bey (hip) has been upgraded to questionable on the injury report ahead of Tuesday's clash against the Denver Nuggets. He has previously carried a doubtful tag due to a hip injury sustained on Dec. 31. The ailment has kept Bey sidelined for six games, disrupting a good comeback campaign. Bey is among New Orleans' leading scorers, averaging 15.1 points per game. His absence has allowed Bryce McGowens to become a member of the first unit, but his efforts have been mostly disappointing.

Sun Jan 408:23Saddiq Bey Ruled Out Versus Heat
New Orleans Pelicans forward Saddiq Bey (hip) will miss a second straight game Sunday against Miami due to a right hip strain. Bey's absence has opened wing minutes, though the fantasy results have been uneven. Bryce McGowens has started each of the last four games but is averaging just 6.3 points on volatile shooting across 25.3 minutes, making him a risky streaming option. Micah Peavy's playing time has fluctuated sharply, limiting his usefulness even in deeper formats. Bey's next chance to return comes Tuesday against the Lakers.

Fri Jan 215:33Saddiq Bey Won't Suit Up on Friday
New Orleans Pelicans forward Saddiq Bey (hip) is officially ruled out ahead of Friday's game against the Portland Trail Blazers. He was listed as questionable coming into this contest due to right-hip soreness. The Pelicans will play it safe and hold out Bey for at least one game. The Pelicans are likely going to use a committee approach to fill the void left by Bey. This means that Jordan Hawkins, Bryce McGowens, and Micah Peavy should all see increased run. There's no clear streaming option from Bey's absence, but Hawkins offers the most upside. Fantasy managers should view him as a low-end streaming choice with the team likely leaning on multiple players to fill the playing time.

Fri Jan 209:18Saddiq Bey May Sit Out Friday's Game
New Orleans Pelicans forward Saddiq Bey (hip) is questionable to face the Portland Trail Blazers on Friday night. He is dealing with a sore right hip and might be out for only the second time this season. It has been an impressive comeback campaign for Bey, who was unavailable for the entire 2024-25 season due to an ACL injury. The 26-year-old is averaging 15.1 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 2.3 assists, having started every game since Nov. 22. Jose Alvarado will return from a suspension on Friday and could help fill some of Bey's minutes if needed. Bryce McGowens could also be back in the rotation.

Wed Nov 19 202519:32Saddiq Bey Cleared for Wednesday's Action
New Orleans Pelicans forward Saddiq Bey (ankle) is good to go for Wednesday's matchup against the Denver Nuggets. He will return to action after missing one game with an ankle sprain. With Zion Williamson (hamstring) also back in the Pelicans lineup, Bey will likely be limited to a bench role, meaning his fantasy value will be low. As a reserve, Bey has averaged 9.7 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 1.0 assists per game this season. On Wednesday, he might make a slightly bigger impact, as Denver allows the third-most bench points in the league.

Wed Nov 19 202509:00Saddiq Bey Uncertain for Meeting With Nuggets
New Orleans Pelicans forward Saddiq Bey (ankle) is in danger of missing a second consecutive game, as the team has listed him as questionable for Wednesday's clash against the Denver Nuggets. Due to Zion Williamson's (hamstring) absence, Bey has enjoyed a good spell as a member of the first unit, averaging 14.7 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 2.9 assists. However, he landed on the injury report at the start of this week with a sprained left ankle. Williamson also remains on the injury report, meaning Derik Queen and Yves Missi could continue to start together.

Mon Nov 17 202519:30Saddiq Bey Won't Play Against OKC
New Orleans Pelicans forward Saddiq Bey (ankle) won't play on Monday against OKC. He was a late addition to the injury report, so fantasy managers will now wait and see if he can play on Wednesday versus the Denver Nuggets. With Zion Williamson (hamstring) out as well, Karlo Matkovic, who had four points, three boards, and two steals in Sunday's loss to the Golden State Warriors, may work his way into the starting lineup.

Wed Sep 24 202507:17Saddiq Bey Good to Go for the Season
New Orleans Pelicans forward Saddiq Bey (knee) has completed his rehab and is ready for the 2025-26 campaign. Bey sat out the entire 2024-25 season with a torn left ACL. The 26-year-old aims to be a "Swiss army knife" for the team, making an impact with his versatility. We haven't seen Bey on the court in a while, and it remains to be seen what his role will be with the Pelicans; however, he has previously been a solid contributor on teams. For his NBA career, Bey has averaged 14.1 points and 5.2 rebounds in 30.1 minutes.

Tue Jun 24 202518:56Saddiq Bey Dealt to New Orleans
According to ESPN's Shams Charania, the Washington Wizards are trading forward Saddiq Bey (knee) to the New Orleans Pelicans in exchange for guard CJ McCollum and forward/center Kelly Olynyk. New Orleans will also receive guard Jordan Poole. Bey has shown flashes of promise during his time in the National Basketball Association. He appeared in 292 games for the Detroit Pistons before making a stop in Atlanta with the Hawks, averaging 14.1 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 1.8 assists. He signed a three-year deal with the Wizards last offseason. Unfortunately, the 26-year-old never got on the floor because of a torn ACL sustained near the end of his stint in Atlanta. All things considered, Bey should have a meaningful role in the rotation once he's healthy. He may also get a few starts. Still, Bey has some work to do before earning trust from fantasy managers.

Wed Oct 16 202409:27Saddiq Bey Remains Without Timetable For His Return
Washington Wizards forward Saddiq Bey (knee) remains without a timetable for his return to action. The 25-year-old suffered an ACL injury in March and is still rehabbing, with a week to go until the start of the 2024-25 NBA campaign. Bey could be fun to watch on this rebuilding Wizards team. He has averaged 14.1 points and 5.2 rebounds in 292 regular-season appearances with Detroit and Atlanta. Despite his knee injury, Bey was signed to a three-year, $20 million deal as a free agent by the Wizards in the summer, so the team clearly values him. However, it could take months until we see the 25-year-old in action with his new squad.

Sat Jun 29 202413:52Hawks Not Extending Qualifying Offer To Saddiq Bey
The Atlanta Hawks declined to extend a qualifying offer to forward Saddiq Bey, making him an unrestricted free agent. The former Villanova Wildcat averaged 13.7 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 1.5 assists in 2023-24. Unfortunately, he tore his ACL, limiting him to 63 games. Without a doubt, Bey will draw interest from teams around the National Basketball Association, especially from teams with cap space. While his fantasy outlook hinges on where he'll end up for the 2024-25 campaign, he should remain a relatively reliable producer for managers as long as he stays healthy.

Mon Mar 11 202415:48Saddiq Bey Suffers Season-Ending Torn ACL
Atlanta Hawks forward Saddiq Bey (knee) suffered a season-ending torn left ACL in Sunday's loss to the New Orleans Pelicans after an MRI revealed the injury on Monday morning. Bey will be a restricted free agent this summer and has submitted 13.7 points and 6.5 rebounds per game for the Hawks this season. De'Andre Hunter has reached double scoring figures in 14 consecutive games and is in line for a sizable boost in playing time.

Sun Mar 10 202420:23Saddiq Bey Leaves Sunday, Will Not Return
Atlanta Hawks forward Saddiq Bey (knee) hyperextended his knee at the beginning of the fourth quarter while on a fastbreak and exited the game. The Hawks later announced that he would not return. The fourth-year sharpshooter has only missed one game so far this season, so hopefully the hyperextended knee doesn't cause him to miss that much time. The team announced pretty quickly that it was a hyperextension, so it's unclear if there will be any more tests on it the next day. Fantasy managers will have to stay tuned to an official report to see if he'll miss extended time. If he does have to miss at least one game, De'Andre Hunter would likely be the next man up.

Mon Feb 5 202405:45Saddiq Bey Questionable For Monday
Atlanta Hawks forward Saddiq Bey (ankle) could be out for a second consecutive game on Monday against the Clippers. Bey sprained his left ankle against Phoenix on Friday and wasn't available for Saturday's contest versus Golden State. Garrison Mathews took Bey's spot in the starting unit but logged only 16 minutes. Bogdan Bogdanovic ended up picking up extra shifts off the bench and logged nearly 40 minutes in an overtime game. He will be counted on a lot again if Bey can't play on Monday.

Sat Feb 3 202414:18Saddiq Bey Won't Play Versus Golden State
According to Kevin Chouinard of Hawks.com, forward Saddiq Bey (ankle) won't play in Saturday's matchup with the Golden State Warriors. The veteran sprained his ankle during Friday's win over the Phoenix Suns, ending his night after 16 minutes. But with De'Andre Hunter (knee) and Dejounte Murray (back) questionable entering the contest, it's anyone's guess who would benefit on the scoring end outside of Trae Young, Bogdan Bogdanovic, Jalen Johnson, and Onyeka Okongwu.

Tue Oct 17 202309:39Saddiq Bey Returns With Nice Double-Double
Atlanta Hawks forward Saddiq Bey was back in action in Monday's preseason contest against Indiana, leading all scorers with 21 points and grabbing a game-high 10 rebounds. His impressive outing included two steals in 20 minutes off the bench in a 116-112 loss. Bey, who shot 7-for-10 from the field and 2-for-3 from behind the arc Monday, had sat out the previous two preseason contests. Following his trade from Detroit to Atlanta, Bey's fantasy value took a significant hit last season, as he went from a starter to a bench piece, but with John Collins out of the way, the 24-year-old has a chance to become a starter again for his first full season as a Hawk.

Mon Feb 13 202314:41Saddiq Bey To Play On Monday
Atlanta Hawks forward Saddiq Bey is set to make his team debut on Monday versus the Charlotte Hornets. It's worth noting that he hasn't actually practiced with his new team since the trade from the Detroit Pistons. That being said, Bey might not get a full workload during his team debut. Although, John Collins (hip) and Bogdan Bogdanovic (hip) are both questionable, so Bey could be forced into a bigger role than expected right away. Fantasy managers will have to check back closer to game time for another update on their status.

Sun Feb 12 202322:40Saddiq Bey Questionable For Hawks Debut On Monday
Atlanta Hawks forward Saddiq Bey (trade pending) is officially questionable to play his first game in a Hawks uniform on Monday. The four-team deal finally became official after some drama surrounding Gary Payton II's injury on Sunday. The 23-year-old has averaged 14.8 points, 4.7 rebounds, 1.6 assists, and 1.0 steals per game so far this season and he'll look to add another shooting option alongside Trae Young and Dejounte Murray. His fantasy upside won't be as high as it was in Detroit, but he can still deliver threes, rebounds, and steals in 12-to-14-team leagues.

Fri Feb 10 202313:152023 NBA Trade Deadline Breakdown - Fantasy Basketball Impacts
The NBA trade deadline has officially come and gone and we had one of the most active deadlines in recent memory with some big stars being dealt. Kyrie, KD, and Westbrook are all heading to new teams and we have been covering those trades and their fantasy impacts here at RotoBaller. But there were plenty of other lesser-known players who were dealt in the last few days and I wanted to go through and make sure we don't overlook some of these trades as some of those deals may even have more fantasy impact than the big moves. So here are some other trades that went down and my two cents on the increase or decrease in value that we should expect from the players involved for the remainder of the 2022-2023 fantasy basketball season.

Moves That Matter

These are very much in order of how much they matter. Let's start with the Spurs sending their starting center back up North where he started his career.Jakob Poeltl to the RaptorsI am a huge Poeltl fan and was close to acquiring him on multiple teams before the deadline. It was a curious move by Toronto to be buyers instead of sellers at the deadline, but Poeltl gives them the presence at the five they have been lacking all season and allows Siakam to shift over and play PF where he belongs.Poeltl is no longer a shutdown candidate and has legit top-50 upside with his multi-category abilities. His departure also makes ... [More]
