Thu Jul 310:10Carlos Correa Resting Thursday
Minnesota Twins shortstop Carlos Correa is not in the lineup for their game against the Miami Marlins on Thursday. Brooks Lee will start at short and bat fourth against Marlins starter Eury Perez. This looks like a rest day for Correa, who went 2-for-4 with an RBI in a 2-1 win over the Marlins on Wednesday night. After playing just 86 games in 2024, Correa has already appeared in 75 contests this year. Correa's production hasn't been up to his typical standards, though. He's hitting .259/.299/.387 with seven homers, 29 RBI, 32 runs scored, and a career-low 5.5% walk rate in 291 plate appearances.

Sat Jun 712:31Carlos Correa Back in Action on Saturday
Minnesota Twins shortstop Carlos Correa (back) is starting at shortstop and batting third in Saturday's game against the visiting Toronto Blue Jays and right-hander Kevin Gausman. With Correa back after missing three straight games with back tightness, Brooks Lee will head back to the bench this weekend. Th 30-year-old Correa will return to face Gausman, who he has hit .267 against with an RBI in 15 career at-bats. He's mostly been a disappointment for fantasy managers in 2025 with a .241/.285/.380 slash line, a .665 OPS, only five home runs, 19 RBI and 23 runs scored in 187 at-bats. The good news is that the former first overall pick has an xBA of .270, indicating that he should experience positive regression going forward if he can stay healthy. Since May 26, Correa has gone 8-for-31 (.258) with two homers, three doubles and five RBI in eight games.

Fri Jun 618:51Carlos Correa Remains Out of Twins Lineup
Minnesota Twins shortstop Carlos Correa (back) is out of the starting lineup again for Friday's series opener against the visiting Toronto Blue Jays at Target Field. Brooks Lee will make another start at shortstop while batting fifth against Blue Jays right-hander Paxton Schultz. Correa developed some back stiffness in Sacramento earlier this week against the Athletics and will now miss his third straight game. For now, he's being considered day-to-day, but this is definitely something that could eventually send the 30-year-old veteran to the injured list, especially if he doesn't play at all this weekend. Correa is hitting a modest .241 (45-for-187) this year with only five home runs, 19 RBI and 23 runs scored. A .270 xBA shows that better times are likely on the way, though. Lee is a former eighth overall pick in 2022 and is hitting .243/.282/.343 with four homers and 20 RBI in his 47 games in 2025.

Thu Jun 513:37Carlos Correa Out Again on Thursday
Minnesota Twins shortstop Carlos Correa (back) is taking another day off on Thursday in the series finale in Sacramento against the hosting Athletics, according to The Athletic's Dan Hayes. Correa has been slipping in the batter's box at Sutter Health Park and feels that his back is overcompensating. "We're taking the smart option of taking these two days (off) so I can go back home and play at home. I'm not going to be slipping at the plate," Correa said. It sounds like 30-year-old veteran is hoping that he can return for this weekend's series at home against the Toronto Blue Jays, but fantasy managers will need to check back on Friday. Brooks Lee is starting at the 6 again on Thursday and will hit eighth against A's right-hander Mitch Spence. Lee will have minimal DFS upside in the eight-hole, but he's also in the midst of a seven-game hitting streak in which he's gone 9-for-30 (.300) with a double and four RBI.

Wed Jun 421:10Carlos Correa Scratched with Back Tightness
Minnesota Twins shortstop Carlos Correa (back) was scratched from Wednesday's lineup with back tightness. Brooks Lee, who was originally getting the night off, will start at shortstop in his place. The severity of the injury is not yet clear, but hopefully it's just a day-to-day issue. Correa has struggled to stay on the field over the course of his career, playing in at least 135 games only four times out of nine full-length seasons. The 30-year-old has played in 52 games so far in 2025 but has slashed just .241/.285/.380. More details on the severity of the injury may come out after the game.

Sat May 2412:32Carlos Correa Out on Saturday
Minnesota Twins shortstop Carlos Correa will take a seat on the bench to start Saturday's divisional contest against the visiting Kansas City Royals at Target Field. Correa will get a breather a day after returning from the seven-day concussion injured list. The 30-year-old Puerto Rican had a nice return in Friday's 3-1 win, going 2-for-4 with a home run and two runs scored, but the Twins will give him a day off to ease him back into the fold after his head injury. Brooks Lee will make the start at shortstop on Saturday and will hit third against Royals veteran right-hander Michael Wacha. Lee, the former eight overall pick in 2022 out of Cal Poly, is in a prime lineup spot, but he really hasn't produced much with his opportunities so far this year. The 24-year-old has gone 28-for-122 (.230) with four homers and 13 RBI and is hitless in just two career at-bats versus Wacha.

Fri May 2313:07Carlos Correa Officially Activated From Concussion Injured List
The Minnesota Twins announced on Friday that they reinstated infielder Carlos Correa (concussion) from the seven-day concussion injured list. Minnesota's lineup for the series opener on Friday against the division-rival Kansas City Royals at Target Field has not been released yet, but fantasy managers should expect Correa to be back in there at shortstop to face left-hander Noah Cameron. In a corresponding move, the Twins sent Ryan Fitzgerald back to Triple-A St. Paul. The 30-year-old Correa has done very little for fantasy managers so far in 2025 with a .236 average (35-for-148) with only two home runs, 13 RBI and 14 runs scored. However, the Puerto Rican shortstop is hitting .417 (5-for-12) in the last 14 days before his head injury suffered in a collision with Byron Buxton last week. Fantasy managers are hoping Correa can pick up where he left off in the month of May.

Thu May 2215:51Carlos Correa Expected to Return on Friday
The Athletic's Dan Hayes writes that it's safe to say that Minnesota Twins shortstop Carlos Correa (concussion) is expected to return for Friday's series opener against the division-rival Kansas City Royals. Correa was placed on the seven-day concussion injured list after suffering a concussion during a scary collision with teammate Byron Buxton last week. The 30-year-old veteran has progressed through the league's concussion protocol apparently, though, and should be ready to return to action this weekend at Target Field. Young infielder Brooks Lee has been filling in at shortstop but will revert to more of a utility infield role with Correa returning soon. Correa has done little for fantasy managers so far this year, but he has hit .293 (12-for-41) with a homer, five RBI and four runs scored in 11 games in May. Hopefully, he can continue to build on that once he's back.

Wed May 2112:23Carlos Correa Ahead of Byron Buxton in Recovery From Concussion
The Athletic's Dan Hayes writes that Minnesota Twins shortstop Carlos Correa (head) is ahead of outfielder Byron Buxton (head) in terms of returning from their concussions suffered last week when they were involved in a scary collision in the outfielder in a game versus the Baltimore Orioles. It is still to be determined on when either player would be ready to return to games, but Correa appears to be progressing more quickly. Both players are currently on the seven-day concussion injured list, with Correa being eligible to return this Friday. Until they are able to return, Brooks Lee will continue to see most of the playing time at shortstop in Minnesota, with Harrison Bader patrolling center field in Minnesota. Hopefully, Correa is able to gain clearance and return for this weekend's series at home against the division-rival Kansas City Royals.

Fri May 1618:46Carlos Correa Goes on Seven-Day Concussion Injured List
The Minnesota Twins placed shortstop Carlos Correa (concussion) on the seven-day concussion injured list on Friday, according to The Atheltic's Dan Hayes. Correa collided with outfielder Byron Buxton, who is in the league's concussion protocol, in Thursday's win over the Baltimore Orioles. The 30-year-old was not in the starting lineup for Friday's series opener against the Milwaukee Brewers and will now sit out for an additional seven days, if not longer, depending on how he progresses through the league's protocols for head injuries. The earliest he'll be able to return will be May 23. Keep Correa stashed in all fantasy leagues while he recovers. In the meantime, Brooks Lee, the eighth overall pick in 2022 out of Cal Poly, will function as Minnesota's primary shortstop. The 24-year-old switch-hitter will gain deep-league value in the short term. He enters Friday's action hitting .250 (25-for-100) with four homers and 10 RBI.

Fri May 1615:23Carlos Correa, Byron Buxton Both Out on Friday
Minnesota Twins shortstop Carlos Correa (head) and outfielder Byron Buxton (head) are both out of the lineup for Friday's series opener against the Milwaukee Brewers after they collided chasing a pop-up in Thursday's win over the Baltimore Orioles. Although neither player has been put on the injured list, they are both in the league's concussion protocol, and it's unknown if they'll be available to play all weekend. Brooks Lee is starting at short and batting third, while DaShawn Keirsey Jr. is in center field and hitting eighth against Brewers right-hander Chad Patrick. Fantasy managers should prepare for the potential of both Correa and Buxton landing on the seven-day concussion list if they are unable to return in Milwaukee this weekend. Both Lee and Keirsey will be everyday players for Minnesota until Correa and Buxton are able to return.

Thu May 1515:11Carlos Correa In Concussion Protocol After Collision On Thursday
Minnesota Twins shortstop Carlos Correa (head) is in the league's concussion protocol after a scary third-inning collision with teammate Byron Buxton in Thursday's series finale against the Baltimore Orioles at Camden Yards. Correa backpedaled into shallow center field before Buxton slammed into the back of him and jarred his head and neck drastically. The 30-year-old veteran appeared to absorb the worst of the impact, although Buxton was also removed from the game. Correa went 0-for-1 in the game before Brooks Lee shifted from second base to shortstop to replace him. It's a pretty good bet that Correa will be out for Friday's series opener against the Milwaukee Brewers, and he could be headed for the seven-day concussion list. Lee, a former first-round pick, figures to see most of the starts at the 6 for however long Correa is out.

Sun May 1112:13Carlos Correa Getting A Breather On Sunday
Minnesota Twins shortstop Carlos Correa is getting a day of rest for Sunday's series finale against the visiting San Francisco Giants at Target Field. Brooks Lee will make the start at shortstop and will hit cleanup against Giants right-hander Landen Roupp. Correa will be getting his first day off since April 16. In 21 games since then, he has gone 23-for-82 (.280) with two home runs, three doubles, nine RBI and eight runs scored in 86 plate appearances. It's been nice to see from the 30-year-old Puerto Rican veteran after a slow start to the year, but he's still slashing only .231/.270/.329 with an ugly .598 OPS, two homers, 13 RBI and 13 runs scored in 2025. Lee, the former eighth overall pick in 2022 out of Cal Poly, has been mediocre at the plate so far this year with a .232 average (19-for-82), two homers and seven RBI. The 24-year-old switch-hitter has never faced Petty.

Wed May 710:02Carlos Correa Tallies Three Hits, Homers In Rout Of Orioles
Minnesota Twins shortstop Carlos Correa went 3-for-5 with a home run and three RBI in his team's 9-1 win over the Baltimore Orioles. His other two hits were singles. The 30-year-old ripped his second homer of the season in the third inning -- a two-run shot -- off of Orioles pitcher Cade Povich to put Minnesota up by five. It left the bat at 109 MPH and traveled a staggering 458 feet. Correa isn't enjoying the same batting average success in 2025 as he did a season ago, when he hit .310, but he's underperforming his .261 xBA (.233). Tuesday marked back-to-back multi-hit efforts for the former first-overall pick, and he's done so three times in his last five appearances.

Wed Apr 1612:14Carlos Correa Out On Wednesday
Minnesota Twins shortstop Carlos Correa (wrist) is not in the starting lineup for Wednesday's series finale against the New York Mets at Target Field. It shouldn't come as a big surprise after Correa injured his left wrist on a swing in the fifth inning of Tuesday's win over the Mets. Expect the 30-year-old to undergo testing on his injured wrist, at which point we'll have a better idea of the severity of his injury. Minnesota has a day off on Thursday before starting a new series on Friday in Atlanta against the Braves. Fantasy managers will want to check back then on Correa's status. On Wednesday, Willi Castro will make the start at shortstop and bat seventh, while Brooks Lee is at the hot corner and is hitting sixth against Mets right-hander Huascar Brazoban. Both Lee and Castro are each hitless in their only career at-bats against Brazoban.UPDATE: Manager Rocco Baldelli said that Correa could be available off the bench on Wednesday.

Tue Apr 1522:36Carlos Correa Departs Monday's Game With Wrist Soreness
Minnesota Twins shortstop Carlos Correa (wrist) left Tuesday's 6-3 win over the New York Mets early due to left-wrist soreness, according to the team. Correa appeared to injure his wrist after taking a swing in the fifth inning. The 30-year-old went 1-for-2 with an RBI before departing. Willi Castro moved from third base to shortstop after Correa's injury, with Brooks Lee entering the contest to play third base. Correa will likely go for testing after the game, at which point we should have a better idea of the severity of his wrist injury on Tuesday night or Wednesday morning. It's certainly a concerning development for the Twins, especially since Matt Wallner (hamstring) also left this game with an injury. In addition to his injury, Correa entered Tuesday's game hitting just .153 (9-for-59) with no home runs. Lee would be in line for regular playing time if Correa is forced to the injured list.

Sun Apr 1314:01Carlos Correa Sitting On Sunday
Minnesota Twins shortstop Carlos Correa is not in the starting lineup on Sunday when the Twins conclude a series against the Detroit Tigers. Correa has started in each of the first 15 games of the regular season. As a result, utility man Willi Castro will cover shortstop in this contest and bat third. After posting an underwhelming .111/179/.139 slash line through his first 10 games of the regular season, Correa has begun to turn the corner, posting a .263/.333/.474 slash line with four doubles over his last five contests. Fantasy managers should expect the 30-year-old to return to the starting nine on Monday evening when the Twins host the New York Mets. Despite his slow start, Correa remains a must-start option in all formats as he posted a .310/.388/.517 line last summer.

Fri Apr 1106:24Carlos Correa Continues Slow Start
Minnesota Twins shortstop Carlos Correa went 0-for-4 on Thursday afternoon against the Royals and is hitting just .149 (7-for-47) in his first 13 games this season. He began the year with an 0-for-18 stretch and is just 5-for-26 (.192) over his last seven games. Correa does have four doubles, four walks, and five runs scored in his 13 games, and his 41.0% hard-hit rate is not a drastic drop from last year's mark. He had a slow spring training as well and hasn't been able to find his rhythm yet at the plate. After the loss on Thursday, the Twins have struggled to a 4-9 start to the season, and they'll come home this weekend to host their division-rival Tigers for a three-game set.

Sun Jan 2608:23Carlos Correa Fully Healthy Entering Spring Training
According to Matthew Leach of MLB.com, Minnesota Twins shortstop Carlos Correa (foot) has "no issues" entering spring training. Correa missed more than two months of play last season due to plantar fasciitis. However, when on the field, the shortstop was very productive, posting a .310/.388/.517 slash line with 14 home runs. He added 58 RBI and 54 runs. Under the hood, he generated a strong .358 xwOBA and showed a great eye at the plate with a 16.6% strikeout rate and a 10.9% walk rate. Fantasy managers should continue monitoring his status during spring training in case he faces a setback. The 30-year-old should be expected to operate as the everyday shortstop in Minnesota and should be poised for a successful 2025 campaign with this injury behind him.

Tue Dec 10 202414:28Twins Receiving Calls On Carlos Correa
Minneapolis Star Tribune's Bobby Nightengale reports that the Minnesota Twins have received calls from teams interested in trading for shortstop Carlos Correa. The veteran shortstop is owed over $120 million over the next four seasons and has been limited to 221 games in the last two seasons due to various injuries, most notably with his feet. The 30-year-old Puerto Rican and three-time All-Star played in only 86 games in 2024 but swung the bat well when healthy, slashing .310/.388/.517 with a .905 OPS, 14 home runs, 54 RBI and 55 runs scored. Correa is recovering nicely in the offseason and should be ready for next year. He showed that he still has above-average power, but because of durability issues with his feet, interested teams aren't likely to offer much to Minnesota. There are also long-term concerns about his ankle, making him a pretty big risk in real life and in fantasy in 2025 and beyond.
