Fri Jun 2723:59Byron Buxton Goes Yard, Steals a Base in Win
Minnesota Twins outfielder Byron Buxton continued his strong season in a 4-1 win over the Detroit Tigers on Friday. Buxton clubbed his 18th homer, a 425-foot solo shot off right-hander Sawyer Gipson-Long, and added a walk, a stolen base, and a second run scored in a 1-for-4 night. The 31-year-old has already tied last season's HR total in 37 fewer games and will have a chance at 30-plus for the first time in his career if he stays healthy (a big if for the injury-prone Buxton). He's also slashing an excellent .278/.346/.560 with 49 RBI, 51 runs scored, and 14 steals over 280 trips to the plate.

Sun Jun 2218:28Byron Buxton Smacks Two Homers on Sunday
Minnesota Twins outfielder Byron Buxton has been crushing the ball over the wall lately. On Sunday, Buxton got the game going with a solo home run off right-hander Quinn Priester in the first inning. Buxton continued the fun with another solo blast in the sixth inning. He finished his day 3-for-5 with two homers, two RBI, one stolen base, and a walk in the loss. Buxton did a little bit of everything in this game, but sadly it wasn't enough to get the win. Buxton now has six homers over his last six games, so he needs to be started in fantasy formats right now.

Thu Jun 1918:12Byron Buxton Homers Twice in Win
Minnesota Twins outfielder Byron Buxton continued showing off his power during Thursday's game against the Cincinnati Reds. Buxton started off the scoring quickly with a leadoff home run off right-hander Nick Martinez to begin the game. The 31-year-old came up again in the second inning and took Martinez deep for the second time in two innings. Buxton now has four homers over his last three games as the veteran outfielder is finally coming around with the bat. He finished this game 3-for-6 with two homers, two RBI, and a double in the win. When healthy, Buxton is a stud, but keeping him healthy has been a problem.

Tue Jun 1714:52Byron Buxton Returns to Twins Lineup
Minnesota Twins outfielder Byron Buxton (elbow) is back in center field and hitting leadoff for the Twins for their contest on Tuesday in Cincinnati against the Reds and left-hander Andrew Abbott. Buxton was hit by a pitch on his left elbow on Saturday against the Houston Astros and was scratched from the series finale on Sunday. However, the 31-year-old is feeling better after an off day on Monday and will return for Tuesday's series opener at Great American Ballpark. Fantasy managers will want to get Buxton back into their lineups this week. He is hitting .306 (11-for-36) in 11 games this month with a homer, three doubles, 11 RBI, three steals and three runs scored. Buxton has never faced Abbott in his career, but he's gone 11-for-36 (.306) with two of his 11 home runs on the year against left-handed hurlers.

Sun Jun 1513:10Byron Buxton Scratched from Sunday's Lineup
Minnesota Twins outfielder Byron Buxton (elbow) was a late scratch from Sunday's lineup when they concluded a series against the Houston Astros. Buxton was pulled from Saturday's contest after being hit by a pitch in the elbow. While he was initially in Sunday's lineup, the team will opt to exercise caution and give him an extra day off. Fantasy managers should continue to keep an eye on his status leading up to their next game on Tuesday against the Cincinnati Reds. Instead, the Twins will give Harrison Bader the starting nod in center field. Buxton has enjoyed an impressive start to the campaign, holding a .273/.338/.502 line with 11 home runs and 12 stolen bases. He has generated a stellar 53.8% hard-hit rate with a .475 xSLG. The Twins are a viable target in DFS facing Houston left-hander Brandon Walter.

Sun Jun 1511:07Byron Buxton Starting on Sunday
Minnesota Twins outfielder Byron Buxton (elbow) is in Sunday's lineup when the Twins conclude a series against the Houston Astros. Buxton was removed from Saturday's game after being hit by a pitch, but was able to avoid a serious injury. This afternoon, Buxton will cover center field and will bat at the top of the batting order. Over his last 11 contests, the 31-year-old has been quite productive at the plate, posting a .306/.435/.472 slash line with three doubles and a home run. During this stretch, Buxton has tallied 11 RBI and swiped three bags. Through 54 games this season, Buxton has been quite productive, holding a .273/.338/.502 line with 11 home runs and 12 stolen bases. This afternoon, Buxton is a strong choice in DFS facing Houston left-hander Brandon Walter.

Sat Jun 1418:07Byron Buxton Exits Early on Saturday
Minnesota Twins outfielder Byron Buxton (elbow) was forced to make an early exit during Saturday's game against the Houston Astros. Buxton initially remained in the game after getting hit by a pitch in the sixth inning. He was pulled out about an inning later, assuming due to elbow discomfort. The expectation is that Buxton will undergo further testing to determine the severity of the injury. Before exiting, Buxton went 0-for-2 with a stolen base and was hit by a pitch. Harrison Bader took over in center field and is likely to see increased playing time if Buxton misses any action. UPDATE: Manager Rocco Baldelli said the team is considering Buxton day-to-day for now and aren't worried about him long term. "I got hit. I can tell. I don't feel too good but I'll be alright," Buxton said.

Wed Jun 1123:02Byron Buxton Fills Box Score in Victory
Minnesota Twins outfielder Byron Buxton had a huge Wednesday night to help the team to a 6-2 win over the Texas Rangers. His most noteworthy contribution came with the Twins trailing 2-0 in the bottom of the third inning. Buxton stepped to the plate with two on and hit a mammoth 479-foot home run off right-hander Jack Leiter to give the Twins the lead. It was the highlight of a dominant game for Buxton, who went 3-for-3 with a double, a walk, and a stolen base. Buxton, fresh off back-to-back three-hit nights, is now slashing a robust .279/.339/.518 with 11 homers, 41 RBI, 38 runs, and 11 steals in 221 plate appearances. As always, the question is whether the uber-talented Buxton will be able to stay healthy. Injuries have limited the 31-year-old to just two 100-game seasons in his career. With 51 appearances so far, he has held up well this year and provided high-end production.

Sat Jun 712:52Byron Buxton Resting on Saturday
Minnesota Twins outfielder Byron Buxton is not in the team's starting lineup on Saturday against the visiting Toronto Blue Jays at Target Field. Harrison Bader will start in center field and will bat ninth versus Blue Jays right-hander Kevin Gausman. Although Bader has been a nice surprise offensively in his first year with the Twins in 2025, fantasy managers setting DFS lineups will probably want to avoid him in the nine-hole and for the fact he's hit just .091 with an RBI in 11 career at-bats against Gausman. Buxton could use a little breather after going hitless in nine at-bats with two strikeouts in his last three games. The 31-year-old former second overall pick is on pace for his first 20-homer, 20-stolen base season in his 12th year in the big leagues if he can stay healthy the rest of the way. That's a pretty big if, considering his lengthy injury history.

Tue Jun 312:17Byron Buxton Picks up Two More Hits in Win
Minnesota Twins outfielder Byron Buxton went 2-for-5 with a single and a double in Monday's 10-4 win against the Athletics. The veteran drove in five, scored a run, hit a sac fly, and swiped a bag. Buxton doubled home teammates Kody Clemens and Ty France in the top of the second to give the Twins a 4-0 lead and knocked in the pair again in the top of the sixth with a two-out RBI single. Then, the former first-round pick drove in his fifth run with a sac fly in the ninth. He's recorded two hits in each of his three appearances since returning from a concussion -- batting a crisp .353 (6-for-17) with four runs scored, eight RBI, and two steals. The theft was his tenth of the year -- matching his home run total.

Fri May 3014:11Byron Buxton Officially Reinstated From Injured List
The Minnesota Twins announced on Friday that they reinstated outfielder Byron Buxton (concussion) from the seven-day concussion injured list and optioned outfielder Carson McCusker to Triple-A St. Paul in a corresponding move. The Twins haven't announced their starting lineup for Friday's series opener in Seattle against the Mariners, but Buxton should be back in there, at least as the designated hitter. The 31-year-old veteran will return for the first time since colliding with teammate Carlos Correa and suffering a concussion on May 15. Fantasy managers will want to get him back into their starting lineups with the ability to contribute in all categories. Buxton will be returning to a .261 average (41-for-157) with 10 long balls, 27 RBI, 33 runs scored and eight stolen bases. The former first-rounder is as injury-prone as they come, but he played in over 100 games for the second time in his career in 2024.

Fri May 3013:44Byron Buxton Expected to Return From Injured List on Friday
Minnesota Twins outfielder Byron Buxton (concussion) is expected to return from the seven-day concussion injured list for the team's series opener on Friday against the Mariners in Seattle. Buxton continues to do baseball activities and took batting practice on Wednesday. The 31-year-old veteran should clear the league's concussion protocol and be able to play this weekend after colliding with teammate Carlos Correa in the outfield on May 15 against the Baltimore Orioles. His return will push Harrison Bader (finger) back to a corner-outfield role when he's able to return from a nagging finger injury. In 41 games so far in 2025, Buxton has slashed .261/.312/.522 with an .834 OPS, 10 home runs, five doubles, three triples, 27 RBI, 33 runs scored and eight stolen bases. He's extremely injury-prone, but is worth rostering in all fantasy formats for his power and speed contributions.

Wed May 2812:05Byron Buxton Takes On-Field Batting Practice
Minnesota Twins outfielder Byron Buxton (concussion) took on-field batting practice at George M. Steinbrenner Field on Wednesday before the team's series finale against the Tampa Bay Rays, according to the Minneapolis Star Tribune's Bobby Nightengale. If Buxton continues to progress well, he could rejoin the big-league roster for the upcoming series in Seattle against the Mariners that starts on Friday. The 31-year-old veteran also ran the base and did outfield drills before Monday's game in Tampa and appears close to returning from the seven-day concussion injured list. Buxton collided with teammate Carlos Correa back on May 15 and has been sidelined ever since. It doesn't look like he'll require a minor-league rehab assignment, though. Buxton has been very injury-prone in his career but can contribute in all fantasy categories when healthy.

Sun May 2516:13Byron Buxton Traveling For Road Trip
Minnesota Twins outfielder Byron Buxton (concussion) remains in concussion protocol, but he'll travel with the team for their upcoming 10-game road trip that begins on Monday. Buxton has been sidelined since May 15, but appears to be on the verge of returning. He is ramping up his activities, but Buxton still needs to clear concussion protocol before being reinstated from the 7-day injured list. Fantasy managers should continue to hold Buxton as his return to the lineup is on the horizon.

Fri May 2321:17Byron Buxton Ramping Up Baseball Activities, Heading in Positive Direction
Minnesota Twins outfielder Byron Buxton (concussion) is "ramping up his baseball activities" and "completed ground-based running" on Friday, according to manager Rocco Baldelli. There remains no timetable for Buxton's return from the seven-day concussion injured list, but all indications are that he's headed in a positive direction. The 31-year-old veteran collided with shortstop Carlos Correa in the outfield late last week, and both players were placed on the seven-day IL. Correa returned to the team on Friday, so hopefully Buxton isn't too far behind and can be back with the club early next week. In the meantime, Harrison Bader will continue to man center field in Minnesota. Buxton, a former first-rounder that has had his fair share of injuries throughout his career, has been a nice source of power (10 homers) and speed (eight steals) this year while also scoring 33 runs and driving in 27.

Wed May 2112:23Carlos Correa Ahead of Byron Buxton in Recovery From Concussion
The Athletic's Dan Hayes writes that Minnesota Twins shortstop Carlos Correa (head) is ahead of outfielder Byron Buxton (head) in terms of returning from their concussions suffered last week when they were involved in a scary collision in the outfielder in a game versus the Baltimore Orioles. It is still to be determined on when either player would be ready to return to games, but Correa appears to be progressing more quickly. Both players are currently on the seven-day concussion injured list, with Correa being eligible to return this Friday. Until they are able to return, Brooks Lee will continue to see most of the playing time at shortstop in Minnesota, with Harrison Bader patrolling center field in Minnesota. Hopefully, Correa is able to gain clearance and return for this weekend's series at home against the division-rival Kansas City Royals.

Sat May 1719:49Byron Buxton Placed on 7-Day Injured List
The Minnesota Twins have placed outfielder Byron Buxton (concussion) on the 7-day concussion injured list on Saturday. Earlier this week, Buxton appeared to have cleared concussion protocol, but has apparently faced a setback. Fantasy managers should continue to keep an eye on his status next week, as Buxton may only need the minimum stay on the injured list. Prior to suffering this concussion, Buxton was beginning to find his power swing, as he launched four home runs, a double, and a triple over his last 10 contests. Through 41 games this season, Buxton has posted a solid .261/.312/.522 slash line. Under the hood, he has generated an impressive 16.3% barrel rate and a 55.8% hard-hit rate. While he is sidelined, fantasy managers should expect DaShawn Keirsey Jr. to see time in the starting nine.

Fri May 1620:11Byron Buxton Clears Concussion Protocol, Considered Day-To-Day
Minnesota Twins outfielder Byron Buxton (head) has been cleared from the league's concussion protocol, according to Audra Martin. Buxton was not included in the starting lineup for Friday's series opener against the Milwaukee Brewers, though, and is considered day-to-day. Buxton was able to avoid landing on the seven-day concussion injured list, unlike shortstop Carlos Correa, who he collided with in Thursday's win over the Baltimore Orioles. The oft-injured 31-year-old could be available off the bench on Friday and could be back in the starting lineup as early as Game 2 of the series at American Family Field on Saturday. The former second overall pick in 2012 does lead the big leagues with his 56 strikeouts in 173 plate appearances entering Friday's action, but he's done well considering, batting .261/.312/.522 with 10 homers, 27 RBI and eight steals in 41 games.

Fri May 1615:23Carlos Correa, Byron Buxton Both Out on Friday
Minnesota Twins shortstop Carlos Correa (head) and outfielder Byron Buxton (head) are both out of the lineup for Friday's series opener against the Milwaukee Brewers after they collided chasing a pop-up in Thursday's win over the Baltimore Orioles. Although neither player has been put on the injured list, they are both in the league's concussion protocol, and it's unknown if they'll be available to play all weekend. Brooks Lee is starting at short and batting third, while DaShawn Keirsey Jr. is in center field and hitting eighth against Brewers right-hander Chad Patrick. Fantasy managers should prepare for the potential of both Correa and Buxton landing on the seven-day concussion list if they are unable to return in Milwaukee this weekend. Both Lee and Keirsey will be everyday players for Minnesota until Correa and Buxton are able to return.
