Tue Jul 1 | 15:11 | Jorge Soler Reinstated and Starting Against Braves |
The Los Angeles Angels reinstated outfielder Jorge Soler (back) from the 10-day injured list on Tuesday and optioned infielder Scott Kingery to Triple-A Salt Lake in a corresponding move. Soler will immediately return to right field and hit sixth against Braves right-hander Grant Holmes in the series opener at Truist Park. The Angels don't yet feel comfortable moving Mike Trout back to the outfield regularly, so Soler will occupy right field on a regular basis for the Halos now that he's back from his injury. While the 6-foot-4, 235-pound outfielder still has light-tower power if he gets ahold of a ball, he also swings and misses very frequently, as evidenced by his .207 average (49-for-237) with 79 strikeouts in 265 plate appearances this year. Soler is in the 11th percentile in whiff rate as well. He's gone hitless in just one career at-bat against Holmes. |

Sun Jun 29 | 08:25 | Jorge Soler Nearing Return |
Los Angeles Angels outfielder Jorge Soler (back) was able to take batting practice ahead of Saturday's game. According to Jeff Fletcher, Soler could be activated from the injured list soon. Soler landed on the injured list on June 20 due to lower back inflammation. He has been doing defensive drills, running, and now swinging the bat. It sounds like Soler could return when first eligible, which is Monday. LaMonte Wade and Gustavo Campero have been splitting up duties in right field while Soler is out. Soler has been quiet with the bat this season and is really only worth a look in deep leagues. |

Fri Jun 20 | 18:23 | Jorge Soler Heading to 10-Day Injured List |
The Los Angeles Angels will place outfielder/designated hitter Jorge Soler (back) on the 10-day injured list with a back issue, Sam Blum of The Athletic reports. Soler missed the Angels' previous two games because of the injury. The 33-year-old has also battled groin problems during what has been a nightmarish campaign so far. Soler has batted an ugly .207/.280/.350 with eight home runs and 26 RBI in 265 plate appearances. Jo Adell and Luis Rengifo have each started a game in right field during Soler's absence this week. Mike Trout could factor into the picture at some point, but he has been a DH-only option since returning from a knee injury three weeks ago. |

Thu Jun 19 | 12:12 | Jorge Soler Absent Again Thursday |
Los Angeles Angels outfielder Jorge Soler (back) will not be in his team's lineup for Thursday's road outing with the New York Yankees. It's the second straight game the 33-year-old will miss with a stiff back. Teammate Jo Adell is occupying right field and batting sixth in his stead. Soler was decent in April to start the season, but has gone just 24-for-134 (.179) with six extra-base hits (three home runs, three doubles) since the calendar flipped to May. He can still be regarded as day-to-day for now, but is worth monitoring, considering the inherent nature of back injuries. |

Wed Jun 18 | 19:05 | Jorge Soler Out With Stiff Back |
Los Angeles Angels outfielder Jorge Soler (back) is not in the team's lineup against the New York Yankees on Wednesday. Soler is day-to-day with a stiff back, per Jeff Fletcher of the Orange County Register. Luis Rengifo will man right field in Soler's place, while Kevin Newman will take over at third base. The injury news continues a rough June for Soler, who is hitting an abysmal 5-for-42 (.119) with a 17:4 K:BB and three RBI this month. |

Wed Jun 18 | 17:52 | Jorge Soler, Christian Moore Sitting on Wednesday |
Los Angeles Angels outfielder Jorge Soler and rookie second baseman Christian Moore will both take Wednesday's game off against the New York Yankees in the Bronx. Luis Rengifo is making the start in right field and will hit sixth, while Scott Kingery starts at the keystone and bats eighth versus Yankees left-hander Ryan Yarbrough. Soler has really struggled in his last 14 games, striking out almost 40% of the time while going 5-for-42 in the month of June. Moore, the team's top prospect per MLB Pipeline, has a triple in his first 15 MLB plate appearances while walking one and fanning five times in his first five games with the Halos. The 22-year-old has plenty of power upside, but don't expect him to hit for average. Rengifo has just one hit in 10 career at-bats against Yarbrough, while Kingery has one hit and three RBI against the lefty in four ABs. |

Tue Jun 10 | 18:19 | Jorge Soler Returns to the Lineup |
Los Angeles Angels outfielder Jorge Soler (groin) is back in the starting lineup ahead of Tuesday's game against the Athletics. Soler is back in action after missing each of the last two games due to a lingering groin issue. This doesn't appear to be a serious issue, but it is something that Soler has dealt with in the past. Soler will bat fifth and cover right field versus right-hander Mitch Spence on Tuesday. Fantasy managers should adjust their lineups and get Soler back in there. |

Mon Jun 9 | 18:45 | Jorge Soler Still Out on Monday |
Los Angeles Angels outfielder Jorge Soler (groin) is out of the starting lineup ahead of Monday's game against the A's. Soler aggravated his groin issue over the weekend and as a result he'll sit out his second straight game on Monday. The Angels are hopeful Soler is able to avoid a trip to the injured list. It is worth noting that Angels acquired LaMonte Wade, so placing Soler on the injured list would free up a spot for Soler on the roster. In the meantime, Chris Taylor will cover right field and bat sixth versus right-hander Grant Holman on Monday. |

Sun Jun 8 | 14:25 | Jorge Soler Absent on Sunday |
Los Angeles Angels outfielder Jorge Soler (groin) is out of the starting lineup ahead of Sunday's game against the Seattle Mariners. Unsurprisingly, Soler will head to the bench after exiting early on Saturday due to a lingering groin issue. The expectation is Soler will undergo further testing before the organization decides if he'll need a trip to the injured list. Fantasy managers will need to check back for another update on his status. Chris Taylor will cover right field and bat fifth versus right-hander George Kirby on Sunday. |

Sun Jun 8 | 08:12 | Jorge Soler Makes Early Exit |
Los Angeles Angels outfielder Jorge Soler (groin) made an early exit from Saturday's game against the Seattle Mariners. Soler was taken out after the first inning due to what is being called groin tightness. This is something that has bothered him lately, so it wouldn't be shocking to see him get a few days off. For now, fantasy managers should consider Soler as day-to-day. The Angels will likely further evaluate him, so fantasy managers will need to check back. Chris Taylor took over on Saturday and figures to see more action if Soler misses time. |

Fri Jun 6 | 20:05 | Jorge Soler Back in Action for Halos |
Los Angeles Angels outfielder Jorge Soler (groin) is back in right field and is hitting fifth for Friday's divisional clash against the visiting Seattle Mariners at Angel Stadium. Soler returns to the lineup following an off day after he was pulled from Wednesday's game early in Boston against the Red Sox due to tightness in his groin. The 33-year-old veteran is feeling better now, but he'll be a boom/bust DFS play on Friday night against a solid young pitcher. Soler has gone hitless in just two career at-bats against Miller and is striking out 27.8% of the time in his 234 plate appearances in his first year in Anaheim. He's hit .200 in his last 15 games with two home runs and eight RBI. The strong right-handed slugger currently has a weak .672 OPS and an xBA of .214, so his underlying batted-ball metrics don't exactly paint a pretty picture, either. |

Wed Jun 4 | 16:11 | Jorge Soler Leaves Early With Groin Tightness |
Los Angeles Angels outfielder Jorge Soler (groin) was pulled from Wednesday's series finale at Fenway Park against the Boston Red Sox with groin tightness, according to the team. Before being pulled, Soler singled and walked in two plate appearances. He was replaced in right field by Matthew Lugo. It's unclear how serious the 33-year-old right-handed slugger's hamstring injury is, but it's the same injury that he also dealt with earlier this year, so the Angels might prefer to put him on the shelf so it doesn't become a bigger issue. The Angels have been easing Mike Trout back into the fold at DH, so if Soler ends up missing significant time and Trout remains at DH, Chris Taylor and Lugo could split playing time in right field for the Halos. Soler entered Wednesday's game with a weak .213 average (44-for-207) with eight home runs, 24 RBI and 23 runs in 56 games in his first year with the Angels. |

Tue May 20 | 21:11 | Jorge Soler Out Of Lineup Tuesday |
Los Angeles Angels outfielder Jorge Soler is absent from Tuesday's lineup against the Athletics. Logan O'Hoppe is getting the start as the designated hitter with Travis d'Arnaud behind the plate. Soler has been ice cold as of late, going 3-for-24 over the past week. Hopefully this day off will get him back on track, with the slugger up to six home runs so far on the year. |

Sat May 10 | 18:17 | Jorge Soler Remains Out On Saturday |
Los Angeles Angels outfielder Jorge Soler (groin) is out of the starting lineup ahead of Saturday's game against the Baltimore Orioles. The right-handed slugger will miss his second game in a row after being scratched ahead of Friday's game due to what is being viewed as a minor groin issue. The organization is hopeful that Soler can return on Sunday, so fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day. Matthew Lugo will cover left field while Taylor Ward is at designated hitter versus right-hander Kyle Gibson on Saturday. Fantasy managers will need to check back on Saturday for another update on Soler. |

Fri May 9 | 19:47 | Jorge Soler Scratched On Friday With Groin Tightness |
Los Angeles Angels outfielder/designated hitter Jorge Soler (groin) was scratched from Friday's starting lineup against the visiting Baltimore Orioles at Angel Stadium with groin tightness, according to The Athletic's Sam Blum. With Soler hurting, Jo Adell will start in right field and bat eighth against Orioles right-hander Tomoyuki Sugano. It's unclear if Soler's injury is serious enough to land him on the 10-day injured list, but fantasy managers will want to check back on Saturday to see if he's available for Game 2 of the series against Baltimore. The 33-year-old right-handed slugger has gone 5-for-27 (.185) with a homer, double, five RBI and two runs in seven games so far in the month of May. The Cuban outfielder has performed pretty much as expected through his first 130 at-bats with a low average .231 and modest power production (six homers, 16 RBI) in his first year with the Halos. |

Sun Apr 6 | 09:13 | Jorge Soler Hits Two-Run Home Run On Saturday |
Los Angeles Angels outfielder/designated hitter Jorge Soler went 1-for-4 on Saturday, blasting his first home run of the season in the 10-4 win over the Guardians. The veteran drove in two runs, scored twice, and was also hit by a pitch in the contest. The former All-Star has a hit in six of eight games thus far, however, it hasn't amounted to much as he owns a .207-1-3-4-0 stat line with a .285 wOBA and 80 wRC+. Long known not only for his power, but also his ability to draw a walk, the 33-year-old has just two walks in 34 plate appearances, coming in at a 5.9 percent rate, which is his lowest rate since the 2015 season (10.7 percentcareer mark). Hopefully Saturday's home run gets him going, otherwise, fantasy managers who didn't spend much draft capital on him might start looking elsewhere for better production. |

Sun Feb 16 | 17:13 | Jorge Soler Expected To Hit At Top Of Lineup |
Los Angeles Angels outfielder Jorge Soler is expected to hit near the top of the batting order during the 2025 season. Manager Ron Washington said he believes Mike Trout, Taylor Ward, and Soler will be the top three hitters in the lineup. This is an interesting development given Soler isn't your typical top-of-the-order player. This will be Soler's first season in Los Angeles after being acquired from the Atlanta Braves following the 2024 season. The veteran slugger could benefit from possibly hitting in front of Trout in the batting order. Soler doesn't offer a ton from a fantasy perspective, but his power alone does give him value. |

Thu Oct 31 2024 | 19:45 | Jorge Soler Traded To Los Angeles |
Atlanta Braves outfielder Jorge Soler is being traded to the Los Angeles Angels in exchange right-hander Griffin Canning according to Jeff Passan of ESPN. Last season with both the Giants and Braves, Soler held a .241/.338/.442 line with 21 home runs, 64 RBI with a 68:141 BB:K ratio. Canning held an underwhelming 5.19 ERA, 1.40 WHIP with a 66:130 BB:K ratio across 171 2/3 innings of work. Soler should be expected to have a spot in the Opening Day lineup either serving as an outfielder or the designated hitter. Canning will likely compete for a spot in a crowded Atlanta rotation that will welcome back ace Spencer Strider who missed most of the 2024 season due to UCL damage in his throwing elbow. |

Fri Aug 23 2024 | 16:01 | Jorge Soler Returns For Braves |
Atlanta Braves outfielder/designated hitter Jorge Soler (hamstring) is back in right field and is batting second against the division-rival Washington Nationals and left-hander MacKenzie Gore at Truist Park on Friday night. Soler is returning to the starting lineup after missing more than a week with a hamstring injury. Fantasy managers in need of power will want to get Soler back into their lineups this weekend. It's been a down year for the right-handed slugger, but he has gone 12-for-46 (.261) with four home runs and 11 RBI in his first 15 games back with Atlanta after being acquired from the San Francisco Giants at the trade deadline. Soler has a homer and two RBI in two career at-bats against Gore. He has hit .280 (28-for-100) on the year against lefties, but only with five of his 16 total home runs. |

Thu Aug 22 2024 | 17:12 | Jorge Soler Ramps Up His Activities, Could Return Friday |
Atlanta Braves outfielder/designated hitter Jorge Soler (hamstring) ramped up his activities a bit with his running on Thursday, and barring a setback, he could return to the starting lineup on Friday in the series opener against the division-rival Washington Nationals at Truist Park. Soler has been out of the team's lineup since injuring his left hamstring last Wednesday, but the 32-year-old right-handed slugger should rejoin the lineup this weekend. The fact that he appeared as a pinch-hitter on Tuesday is a sign that the Braves feel confident he won't need a trip to the injured list. Ramon Laureano is starting in right field again on Thursday and is batting fifth in the series finale against the division-rival Philadelphia Phillies and left-hander Cristopher Sanchez. Soler has hit .261 (12-for-46) with four home runs and 11 RBI in 15 games since being acquired in a trade with the San Francisco Giants at the deadline. |
