It'll be the third start for the 23-year-old rookie, who has divided his time between the rotation and bullpen since the Tigers promoted him on July 23. Melton has made four appearances and recorded a 3.63 ERA with a 1.04 WHIP, 15 strikeouts, and four walks in 17 1/3 innings. On paper, he'll get a favorable draw against a Chicago team that ranks 27th in the majors in runs. However, after Melton combined for just 83 pitches in his two most recent appearances, he might not stay in for that long on Wednesday.
