Sun Jun 2216:42Yerry De Los Santos Dealing with Elbow Discomfort
The New York Yankees have placed reliever Yerry De los Santos (elbow) on the 15-day injured list this past Thursday with elbow discomfort. Presumably, the injury occurred in the 27-year-old's most recent outing against the Los Angeles Angels the day prior, in which he yielded a hit and a walk in a third of an inning. New York signed left-hander Jayvien Sandridge to a major league contract to replace De Los Santos and called him up from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. Fortunately, his MRI on Saturday came back clean, with manager Aaron Boone noting it showed "nothing acute or new." It's unclear if the Dominican Republic native will return when he's first eligible, though it seems unlikely due to the nature of his injury.

Thu Mar 2708:13Yerry De Los Santos Unable To Make Opening Day Roster
The New York Yankees have optioned right-handed pitcher Yerry De Los Santos to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. De Los Santos was competing for a spot on the Opening Day roster but fell short in his bid. In the Grapefruit League, De Los Santos logged nine 1/3 innings to the tune of a 1.93 ERA with a 1.39 WHIP. The 27-year-old has only logged 50 career innings at the MLB level throughout his career. He has held a 4.14 ERA with a 1.26 WHIP. Last summer, De Los Santos spent the entire campaign in the minor leagues. He logged 59 innings with Scranton/Wilkes-Barre and posted a 4.12 ERA with a 1.44 WHIP. He tallied 55 punchouts across 59 innings while serving up 19 free passes. If he continues to progress at Triple-A, he could push to return to the majors later in the season.

Tue Nov 21 202313:08Yankees Sign Yerry De Los Santos
The New York Yankees signed free-agent right-hander Yerry De Los Santos to a minor-league deal on Monday, according to his representatives. The deal includes an invitation to spring training. The 25-year-old Dominican uses a sinker-heavy approach and has a 54.5 ground-ball percentage over 48 major-league appearances with the Pittsburgh Pirates and a career ERA of 4.14. He pitched in 24 1/3 relief innings for Pittsburgh in 2023 and allowed 10 runs (nine earned) on 17 hits (one homer) while walking 13 and striking out 18 batters. De Los Santos will represent relief depth for the Yankees bullpen heading into the 2024 season.
