The 29-year-old hasn't been of much help in fantasy with only 74 punchouts and a 4-6 record. Given his struggles in 2025, the Twins probably won't be in a rush to bring him back to the rotation in the second half of the season until they're sure he's 100% healthy. In addition to Ober, starters Pablo Lopez and Zebby Matthews are currently on the IL.

Things might not get much better in his next scheduled start next week against the Reds in Cincinnati. Overall, Ober is now 4-3 in 2025 with a 4.40 ERA and 1.38 WHIP with 57 strikeouts and 21 walks in 73 2/3 frames. He sits in just the 25th percentile in strikeout rate and 48th percentile in whiff rate.

Fantasy managers will be hoping Ober can bounce back after a rough first start, which is what he did in 2024.

He'll look to keep his strong season going during his next scheduled start on Wednesday when the Kansas City Royals come to Target Field. Ober has had a rough go against the Royals, who own a .411 wOBA against him in 104 PA, so fantasy managers may want to temper expectations for Ober on Wednesday.

In that span, he was 8-6 with a 3.43 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 146 strikeouts over 144 1/3 innings. Ober has quietly flown under the radar when health is on his side and with an ADP of 155, he should be able to return strong value in all formats.
