Tue Jul 1 | 12:16 | Kerry Carpenter Shelved with Hamstring Issue |
MLive Media Group's Evan Woodbery reports that the Detroit Tigers have placed outfielder Kerry Carpenter (hamstring) on the 10-day injured list on Tuesday. Infielder Trey Sweeney was recalled from Triple-A Toledo in a corresponding move. The Virginia Tech product was pulled early from the team's matchup with the Minnesota Twins a few days ago after he appeared to tweak his hamstring leaving the batter's box. Initially, he was deemed day-to-day, but an MRI revealed more damage than expected. Carpenter will be eligible to return before the All-Star break, but it wouldn't be surprising for him to do so afterward. Teammate Zach McKinstry should benefit from increased playing time in the outfield in the meantime. |

Sun Jun 29 | 23:01 | Kerry Carpenter to Undergo MRI on Hamstring |
Detroit Tigers outfielder Kerry Carpenter (hamstring) left the team's 3-0 win over the Minnesota Twins on Sunday with a right hamstring injury. Carpenter will undergo an MRI on Monday, according to Cody Stavenhagen of The Athletic. For his part, Carpenter is optimistic that it's not a serious problem. "It feels similar to the last time I had a little issue with it," he said. "The staff here has done a great job of getting me back pretty quickly. We'll see how it goes, but I think we're all pretty optimistic about it." Carpenter tweaked his hamstring in late April and has played through it without requiring a trip to the 10-day injured list. Before exiting Sunday, Carpenter starred with a home run, a triple, and two RBI in a 2-for-3 night. The 27-year-old is batting .257/.285/.494 with 16 homers, 32 RBI, and 40 runs scored over 280 plate appearances. |

Sun Jun 29 | 21:54 | Kerry Carpenter Leaves Game with Apparent Hamstring Injury |
Detroit Tigers outfielder Kerry Carpenter (hamstring) left Sunday's 3-0 victory over the Twins in what is likely a hamstring injury, reports Cody Stavenhagen of The Athletic. He pulled into third base injured after hitting an RBI triple in the fifth inning, and was immediately removed by a pinch runner. He was already playing through a sore hamstring and was wearing a compression sleeve, so it's very possible that he injured it further. The slugger was on his way to having a huge day at the plate, as he was 2-for-3 with a home run and triple. Expect further updates on the extent of his injury after he undergoes further tests after the game. |

Sun Jun 8 | 18:18 | Kerry Carpenter Not Expected to Miss Time |
Detroit Tigers outfielder Kerry Carpenter (hamstring) made an early exit from Sunday's game against the Chicago Cubs. Carpenter was taken out of the game following a double in the seventh inning. Afterwards, Carpenter admitted that he's still battling through hamstring tightness. That being said, the Tigers are expected to be cautious with Carpenter going forward. The left-handed slugger said he's not expected to miss any action because of the issue. It doesn't appear to be impacting him at the plate at all. Carpenter went 3-for-4 with two doubles during Sunday's win over Chicago. |

Thu Jun 5 | 13:15 | Kerry Carpenter Returns on Thursday |
Detroit Tigers outfielder Kerry Carpenter (hamstring) is back in the starting lineup for Thursday's series finale against the division-rival Chicago White Sox, serving as the designated hitter and batting third against White Sox right-hander Sean Burke. Carpenter returns quickly to the lineup after being scratched from Wednesday's game with a right-hamstring injury that turned out to be minor. The 27-year-old appeared as a pinch-hitter on Wednesday and is now back in the starting nine as the DH. Fantasy managers will want to get him back into their starting lineups. The former 19th-round selection has been injury-prone and has played in over 100 games in one of his first three seasons, but he's been productive when on the field this year with a .272 average (56-for-206) with 13 homers, 27 RBI and 35 runs scored. He's hitless in just one career at-bat against Burke. |

Wed Jun 4 | 18:17 | Kerry Carpenter Scratched on Wednesday |
Detroit Tigers outfielder Kerry Carpenter (hamstring) has been scratched from the starting lineup ahead of Wednesday's game against the Chicago White Sox. It's unclear when Carpenter suffered the injury, but he has been pulled from the lineup due to hamstring tightness. Hopefully, it's only a day-to-day issue, but hamstring issues often do linger around. The Tigers should give more information on the situation soon. In the meantime, Wenceel Perez will cover right field and bat fifth versus left-hander Jared Shuster on Wednesday. |

Tue Jun 3 | 00:09 | Kerry Carpenter Hits Three Homers, Plates Five Monday |
Detroit Tigers outfielder/designated hitter Kerry Carpenter led the charge in Monday's 13-1 onslaught against the White Sox. Carpenter went 3-for-5 with a solo home run, a pair of two-run HR, and a strikeout. The 27-year-old hit his two-run homers in the first and fourth innings and finished things off with a solo shot in the sixth. Carpenter has provided what fantasy managers have come to expect from him, slashing .276/.305/.517 with 13 HR and 27 RBI in 215 plate appearances. Also as expected, he has only seen 36 plate appearances against left-handed pitchers and has hit .200 against them. Even so, his strong performance against righties gives him a high fantasy floor. |

Sun May 4 | 21:22 | Kerry Carpenter Tallies Four Hits, Drives In Five |
Detroit Tigers outfielder Kerry Carpenter had a huge day at the plate in a 13-1 win over the Angels, going 4-for-6 with a home run, a double, one run, and five RBI. This was his fourth game with three hits or more, and he is now slashing .295/.316/.554 with eight home runs, 19 RBI, and 17 runs through 32 games. The slugger has even earned himself some playing time against lefties this season, batting .250 against them in 25 plate appearances. He is in a great spot at the top of Detroit's lineup and should be universally rostered by this point in fantasy. |

Thu May 1 | 18:57 | Kerry Carpenter Resting Against Southpaw |
Detroit Tigers outfielder/designated hitter Kerry Carpenter will take a seat for Thursday's series opener against the hosting Los Angeles Angels and left-hander Yusei Kikuchi. With Carpenter out, Riley Greene will serve as the DH and bat third, with Justyn-Henry Malloy starting in right field and batting leadoff for the first-place Tigers. Carpenter has gone 3-for-21 with two home runs, a double and three RBI in six games over the last week, and he's hitting .250 (6-for-24) with two of his seven home runs against left-handers this year. Make sure you remove him from your starting lineups on Thursday. Greene has never faced Kikuchi and has gone 8-for-39 with no homers, two walks and 18 K's against lefties in 2025. Malloy is hitless in just two career at-bats against Kikuchi and has gone only 10-for-53 (.189) with a homer, eight RBI and nine runs scored in the early going this year. |

Wed Apr 23 | 12:10 | Kerry Carpenter Sitting Out Of Series Finale Against Padres |
Detroit Tigers outfielder Kerry Carpenter is sitting out of Wednesday's series finale against the visiting San Diego Padres. Carpenter missed the first game of the series on Monday due to a minor hamstring injury, but he returned in Tuesday's 2-0 loss to go 0-for-4. With a scheduled day off on Thursday, fantasy managers should expect Carpenter to return to the starting lineup for Friday's series opener in Detroit against the Baltimore Orioles. His 0-for-4 performance on Tuesday dropped his season average just under .300, and he's been very productive for fantasy managers with five home runs, three doubles, 11 RBI and 11 runs scored in his 23 games played early on. Justyn-Henry Malloy is serving as the designated hitter and is batting leadoff on Wednesday against Padres left-hander Kyle Hart. Malloy is only hitting .182 (8-for-44) with no homers this year, but there's some deep-sleeper appeal here in DFS. |

Tue Apr 22 | 15:14 | Kerry Carpenter Back In Detroit's Lineup |
Detroit Tigers outfielder Kerry Carpenter (hamstring) is back in the team's starting lineup on Tuesday for Game 2 of their series against the visiting San Diego Padres at Comerica Park. Carpenter is serving as the designated hitter and is batting leadoff against Padres right-hander Nick Pivetta. The 27-year-old Carpenter was pulled from Sunday's game with right-hamstring soreness and was also held out of Monday's win over the Padres, but he's back in there now, and fantasy managers should return him to their starting lineups. He has never faced Pivetta in his career, but he's been producing regularly for his fantasy managers in the early portion of the 2025 season, slashing .315/.338/.562 with an .899 OPS, five home runs, 11 RBI and 11 runs scored in 73 at-bats. Carpenter will bring a modest five-game hitting streak into Tuesday's contest against SD. |

Mon Apr 21 | 16:02 | Kerry Carpenter Out On Monday, Not Going On Injured List |
Detroit Tigers outfielder Kerry Carpenter (hamstring) is not in the starting lineup for Monday's series opener against the visiting San Diego Padres at Comerica Park, but for now, he will not be placed on the 10-day injured list, according to the Detroit News' Chris McCosky. Carpenter is currently being considered day-to-day with right-hamstring soreness, but if he's not able to return action by this weekend's series against the Baltimore Orioles, he could be a candidate to land on the IL. With the 27-year-old out on Monday, Zack McKinstry is starting in right field and batting second against Padres right-hander Randy Vasquez. Carpenter is an everyday player for Detroit when he's healthy and has been a must-start in fall fantasy formats, as he's hitting .315 (23-for-73) with five homers, 11 RBI and 11 runs in the early going in 2025. McKinstry has never faced Vasquez in his MLB career. |

Mon Apr 21 | 13:55 | Kerry Carpenter Testing Hamstring On Monday |
Detroit Tigers outfielder Kerry Carpenter (hamstring) was seen testing his hamstring on Monday. Carpenter was seen jogging in the outfield before Monday's game against the San Diego Padres. The outfielder was removed from Sunday's contest due to hamstring soreness. However, it appears this injury is minor as the 27-year-old is already back on the field. Fantasy managers should pay close attention to his status leading up to Monday's contest against the San Diego Padres. If Carpenter were to be held out of Monday's game, Zach McKinstry will likely get the nod in right field. Through 22 games this season, Carpenter has enjoyed a hot start to the campaign, holding a .315/.338/.562 slash line with five home runs and three doubles. If he is cleared to play, Carpenter is worth a look in DFS facing San Diego right-hander Randy Vasquez. |

Sun Apr 20 | 22:01 | Kerry Carpenter Leaves Game With Hamstring Injury |
Detroit Tigers outfielder Kerry Carpenter left Sunday's 4-3 loss to the Royals in the eighth inning due to hamstring soreness. He was having a good game before the injury, going 3-for-4 with a double. He will undergo testing to determine the extent of the injury. It would be a shame if this required a trip to the injured list, as Carpenter was off to a very hot start to begin 2025. He is currently slashing .315/.338/.562 with five home runs in 22 games and was even seeing some starts against some left-handed pitchers. |

Wed Apr 16 | 12:37 | Kerry Carpenter Out Against A Southpaw |
Detroit Tigers outfielder Kerry Carpenter is getting a day of rest with a left-hander on the mound in Wednesday's series finale versus the Milwaukee Brewers at American Family Field. Justyn-Henry Malloy is in right field and will bat leadoff, while second baseman Gleyber Torres is the designated hitter and batting second against Brewers left-hander Jose Quintana. Andy Ibanez is at second base and in the three-hole. Carpenter has gone 3-for-15 against lefties so far this year, but two of those hits cleared the fences. Overall, the 27-year-old has been a great source of power for fantasy managers in the early going with five home runs and 10 RBI in 17 games. Malloy has zero homers and has gone 7-for-34 (.206) this year, but he's worth a look as a DFS sleeper in the leadoff spot. Torres has a solo home run and is batting .571 in seven career at-bats against Quintana. |

Mon Apr 7 | 13:07 | Kerry Carpenter, Trey Sweeney Out Versus Lefty |
Detroit Tigers outfielder Kerry Carpenter and shortstop Trey Sweeney will take a seat on the bench for Monday's series opener at Comerica Park against the visiting New York Yankees with left-hander Carlos Rodon on the bump. Manuel Margot will start in right field and bat fifth, while Javier Baez will get the start at short and bat sixth. Left-handed-hitting infielder Zach McKinstry is also out of the starting lineup. Carpenter won't also sit against southpaws, but he'll take a seat in this one to begin the week. He's gone just 7-for-32 (.219) in the first nine games of the season, but he's also added three home runs, a double and eight RBI for fantasy managers. Margot is much better against lefties but lacks pop for DFS upside. He's hitting .375 with an RBI in eight career at-bats against Rodon, while Baez is hitting just .133 against Rodon in 15 career at-bats. |

Sun Apr 6 | 07:16 | Kerry Carpenter Hits Two-Run Shot On Saturday |
Detroit Tigers outfielder Kerry Carpenter went 1-for-5 with a two-run shot during Saturday's victory over the Chicago White Sox. Carpenter went deep in the second inning off Chicago right-hander Chris Martin. His home run also scored Justyn-Henry Malloy. This was Carpenter's third home run over the past two contests as he went deep twice in Friday's victory over the White Sox. Through the first eight games of the campaign, Carpenter has posted a .250/.241/.607 slash line with one double and three round-trippers. He has tallied eight RBI and scored four runs. Through the early part of the campaign, Carpenter has seen time in both left and right fields. Last season, the 27-year-old posted a .284/.345/.587 slash line with 18 round-trippers. He remains a must-start option as he continues this power surge. |

Fri Apr 4 | 17:20 | Kerry Carpenter Goes Deep Twice In Win Over White Sox |
Detroit Tigers outfielder Kerry Carpenter showed his power in Friday's 7-4 win over the division-rival Chicago White Sox at Comerica Park by going 2-for-5 with two solo home runs and a strikeout. The home runs were Carpenter's first of the 2025 season, and he's now hitting .261 with an .815 OPS in the early going for fantasy managers. The 27-year-old left-handed-hitting outfielder played in only 87 games in 2024 due to injuries, but when he was available, he was a consistent producer with a .284/.345/.587 slash line, career-high .932 OPS, 18 home runs, 57 RBI and 37 runs scored in 296 plate appearances. Carpenter's lack of success against left-handed pitching is a problem, though, and it affects his overall fantasy upside for those that have him rostered in mixed leagues. |

Sat Oct 12 2024 | 12:01 | Kerry Carpenter Not In Tigers Lineup For Game 5 |
Detroit Tigers outfielder Kerry Carpenter (hamstring) is not in the team's starting lineup for the pivotal Game 5 against the division-rival Cleveland Guardians on Saturday in the American League Division Series at Progressive Field. Carpenter injured his left hamstring running the bases in the Game 4 loss on Thursday, but there's a chance he would have been on the bench anyway on Saturday with left-hander Matthew Boyd going for Cleveland. It remains to be seen if the 27-year-old left-handed hitter will be available to pinch hit later in the game. With Carpenter out, Justyn-Henry Malloy is the designated hitter on Saturday and will bat leadoff for Detroit. The 24-year-old hit just over .200 with eight homers and 21 RBI in 71 games in his rookie season in 2024 but has been better in October, going 5-for-7 with a double and two walks in his first six postseason games. Malloy also has two hits in his three career at-bats versus Boyd. |

Fri Oct 11 2024 | 21:31 | Kerry Carpenter Will Be Game-Time Decision On Saturday |
Detroit Tigers outfielder Kerry Carpenter (hamstring) will be a game time decision on Saturday in their ALDS finale against the Cleveland Guardians, according to manager A.J. Hinch. Carpenter was removed from Game 4 in the sixth inning with a hamstring injury he obtained running the bases. He will continue to be evaluated into Saturday to determine if he'll be able to go against Guardians' scheduled starter Matthew Boyd. The lefty's status for Saturday could be consequential for the Tigers' ALCS hopes. If he needs to be replaced on the roster, he would not be eligible for Detroit in the ALCS. If Carpenter must be replaced, Bligh Madris would likely take his spot as a contingency plan. Madris hit for a 95 OPS+ in 67 at-bats during the 2024 season but saw minimal chances against lefties, as will be the case Saturday against Boyd. Carpenter similarly saw lefties a minimal amount in the regular season, taking away much of the value either may have for DFS managers. Both should be avoided in DFS formats, as their impact on the game will only happen against a right-hander coming out of the bullpen. |
