Tue Jul 1 | 15:31 | Ryan Jeffers Getting a Day Off on Tuesday |
Minnesota Twins catcher Ryan Jeffers will retreat to the bench for Tuesday's tilt on the road in Miami against the hosting Marlins. Christian Vazquez will do the catching for right-hander Joe Ryan and will bat ninth against Marlins right-hander Edward Cabrera. After splitting the catching duties pretty much right down the middle the last several seasons, Jeffers has become the clear starter in Minnesota this year and enters Tuesday's game with a .236/.336/.382 slash line with six home runs, 29 RBI and 25 runs scored in 225 at-bats. He has struggled offensively of late, going 7-for-45 (.156) with two home runs, eight RBI and seven strikeouts in 13 games since June 11. Vazquez shouldn't be a DFS sleeper target at catcher. He's gone 22-for-129 (.171) on the year with just two homers and nine RBI. Vazquez is hitless in two career at-bats against Cabrera. |

Wed Jun 18 | 18:29 | Ryan Jeffers Resting on Wednesday |
Minnesota Twins catcher Ryan Jeffers (hand) is out of the starting lineup ahead of Wednesday's game against the Cincinnati Reds. This news isn't shocking after Jeffers was lifted from Tuesday's game after getting hit in the hand. The X-rays came back negative, so fantasy managers should consider Jeffers as day-to-day for now. The expectation is that Jeffers will sit out a few games until the swelling goes down. In the meantime, Christian Vazquez will cover behind the plate and bat ninth versus left-hander Nick Lodolo. |

Tue Jun 17 | 21:38 | Ryan Jeffers Exits with Hand Contusion |
Minnesota Twins catcher Ryan Jeffers (hand) left Tuesday's contest after taking a ball off his right hand in the bottom of the fourth inning. It's officially been ruled a right hand contusion, with X-rays coming back negative for a fracture, reports Bobby Nightengale of the Minnesota Star Tribune. That's good news for the 28-year-old who has been a staple behind the dish for the Twins this season, playing in 12 of the team's 15 games in June. Christian Vazquez, who was demoted to purely backup duties, replaced him in this game following the injury. Hopefully Jeffers will be back in the lineup within the next few days, as he's slashing a solid .251/.348/.379 with four home runs this season. |

Sat Jun 14 | 12:18 | Ryan Jeffers Getting a Breather Versus Astros |
Minnesota Twins catcher Ryan Jeffers will retreat to the bench on Saturday in Houston against the Astros at Daikin Park. Christian Vazquez is doing the catching for right-hander Joe Ryan and will hit ninth against Astros right-hander Hunter Brown. Jeffers has taken over primary catching duties for the Twins this year over Vazquez and is currently slashing .243/.341/.376 with four home runs, 21 RBI and 21 runs scored in 189 at-bats. He's gone hitless in his last three games and has struggled at the plate so far in June, going 6-for-32 (.188) with a homer, a double, three RBI, five runs scored, six walks and 10 strikeouts. The 34-year-old Vazquez offers almost nothing with his bat for fantasy managers, as he comes into Saturday's tilt hitting .204 (21-for-103) with two homers, nine RBI and 10 runs scored. He has never faced Brown in his career. |

Thu Jun 5 | 06:48 | Ryan Jeffers Homers, Drives in Two on Wednesday |
Minnesota Twins catcher Ryan Jeffers had a solid game in his team's 6-1 win over the Athletics on Wednesday. Jeffers went 2-for-4 with a homer, a walk, two runs, and two RBI in the win. The veteran catcher kicked off the scoring with a solo homer in the first inning, a shot that traveled 414 feet with an exit velocity of 104 MPH. Jeffers is now hitting .253 with four homers, 19 runs, and 20 RBI across 170 at-bats this season. He has been scuffling of late, hitting just .185 over his past seven contests. That being said, Jeffers has shown good power for a catcher, hitting 21 homers in 2024, which keeps him in the conversation in deeper fantasy leagues. |

Sat May 24 | 12:16 | Ryan Jeffers Getting a Breather Against Royals |
Minnesota Twins catcher Ryan Jeffers will retreat to the bench on Saturday as the series continues against the division-rival Kansas City Royals at Target Field. With Jeffers resting, Christian Vazquez will do the catching for right-hander Zebby Matthews and will hit ninth against Royals right-hander Michael Wacha. Jeffers is Minnesota's primary catcher and is currently riding a modest six-game hitting streak in which he's gone 9-for-23 with a homer, two doubles, two RBI and four runs scored. Vazquez has certainly been the inferior offensive player in his time with the Twins, and the 34-year-old Puerto Rican backstop has gone just 15-for-73 (.205) with a homer, six RBI and five runs scored in 2025. Although he's hit .455 with a .910 OPS in 11 career at-bats against Wacha, we'd advice fantasy managers to look elsewhere in DFS for a catcher. |

Sat May 10 | 14:44 | Ryan Jeffers Not In Saturday's Lineup |
Minnesota Twins catcher Ryan Jeffers will get the day off on Saturday when the Twins continue a series against the San Francisco Giants. Jeffers started on Friday but went 0-for-3 at the plate with a walk and two strikeouts. As a result, Christian Vazquez will get the nod behind the dish and bat in the nine-hole. Prior to Friday, Jeffers was enjoying an impressive surge at the plate. Over his last nine contests, Jeffers posted an impressive .321/.367/.607 slash line with two home runs, two doubles, and eight RBI. Fantasy managers should expect Jeffers to return to the starting nine on Sunday. This afternoon, Vazquez is best to fade in DFS facing San Francisco ace Logan Webb. Webb enters this contest holding a 2.61 ERA with a 1.20 WHIP. |

Tue Apr 29 | 15:02 | Ryan Jeffers Taking The Day Off On Tuesday |
Minnesota Twins catcher Ryan Jeffers is getting the day off on Tuesday as the team faces the division-rival Cleveland Guardians at Progressive Field. Christian Vazquez will do the catching for right-hander Chris Paddack while batting ninth against Guardians right-hander Tanner Bibee. The Twins announced last weekend that Jeffers would be their primary backstop over Vazquez going forward after the two essentially split the catching duties down the middle the previous two seasons. While Jeffers is by no means an offensive superstar, he definitely provides more thump with the bat than Vazquez and is hitting .257 (19-for-74) on the year with a homer, 10 RBI and seven runs scored. Meanwhile, Vazquez has gone 5-for-36 (.139) and has yet to homer in 2025. Fantasy managers should look elsewhere at catcher for DFS lineups than Vazquez. |

Tue Apr 29 | 05:48 | Ryan Jeffers Homers, Drives In Three On Monday |
Minnesota Twins catcher Ryan Jeffers had a big day in an 11-1 win over the Cleveland Guardians on Monday. Jeffers went 2-for-4 with a walk, a double, a homer, two runs, and three RBI in the lopsided win. The veteran backstop ripped a two-run homer in the eighth inning, a shot that traveled 412 feet with an exit velocity of 102.3 MPH. Jeffers is now hitting .257 with seven doubles, one homer, seven runs, and 10 RBI across 74 at-bats this season. He hit 21 homers in 2024, so there is some power in his bat, making him a decent fantasy option at the catcher position. |

Fri Apr 25 | 13:54 | Ryan Jeffers To See More Work Behind The Plate |
The Minnesota Twins have essentially split the catching duties down the middle with Ryan Jeffers (152 starts) and Christian Vazquez (172) starts the last two seasons, but with Vazquez going 5-for-33 (.152) early on this year, the Twins are planning to give more playing time to Jeffers moving forward. Before Vazquez started a day game on Thursday, Jeffers had started three straight games and six times in seven games. "RJ is going to find a few more at-bats in the near term," manager Rocco Baldelli said. "See if we can get the offense going more than we've seen." Jeffers also broke out of his season-opening slump on Wednesday by going 3-for-5 with a double. He's now hitting .254 with no homers in his first 17 games, but his .682 OPS is better than Vazquez's weak .467 mark. Jeffers' expected metrics show he has gotten a bit unlucky. Defense is a different story, but the Twins are prioritizing offense right now, and Jeffers has the advantage. |

Sat Apr 12 | 12:08 | Ryan Jeffers Getting The Day Off |
Minnesota Twins catcher Ryan Jeffers will retreat to the bench on Saturday for a rest day at Target Field against the division-rival Detroit Tigers. Christian Vazquez will do the catching for right-hander Chris Paddack and will hit ninth against rookie right-hander Jackson Jobe. The Twins continue to split the catching duties right down the middle between Jeffers and Vazquez, making them both tough to rely on, even in deeper formats. The 27-year-old Jeffers has gone 7-for-32 (.219) with a double, four RBI, a run scored, two walks and eight strikeouts in nine games played. Vazquez has been even worse at the plate, going 3-for-21 with no homers and a run scored in nine games played. He has not faced Jobe in his career and should be avoided for DFS lineups. |

Fri Sep 6 2024 | 18:13 | Ryan Jeffers Heads To The Bench |
Minnesota Twins catcher Ryan Jeffers is absent from the starting lineup ahead of Friday's game against the Kansas City Royals. This appears to be a routine rest day for Jeffers after he started in each of the last three games. That being said, Christian Vazquez will do the catching and bat seventh versus left-hander Cole Ragans. Vazquez has been cold at the plate with only one hit in his last 11 at-bats. He's unlikely to have much success against a tough southpaw here. Fantasy managers should look elsewhere for a streaming option on Friday. |

Mon Aug 26 2024 | 18:36 | Ryan Jeffers Retreats To The Bench |
Minnesota Twins catcher Ryan Jeffers will head to the bench ahead of Monday's game against the Atlanta Braves. Jeffers returned to the lineup on Sunday after leaving Friday's game due to a right hand injury. It's uncertain if Jeffers suffered a setback or if he's just getting a rest day on Monday. Regardless, Christian Vazquez will do the catching and bat seventh against left-hander Max Fried. Vazquez hasn't been much of a fantasy option this season. Through 75 games, Vazquez is hitting .231 with seven home runs and 27 RBI this season. Fantasy managers should be able to find a better streaming option ahead of Monday's game. It sounds like a rest day for Jeffers, but fantasy managers should check back for another update. |

Sun Aug 25 2024 | 13:50 | Ryan Jeffers Returning To The Lineup |
Minnesota Twins catcher Ryan Jeffers (hand) is back in the starting lineup ahead of Sunday's game against the St. Louis Cardinals. The right-handed slugger is back in the mix after missing Saturday's contest due to a right hand issue. It looks like his absence was for precautionary reasons and he should be fine going forward. Jeffers will bat fifth and do the catching against right-hander Erick Fedde on Sunday. The 27-year-old doesn't hit for average, but his 20 home runs and 59 RBIs make him a solid fantasy asset. |

Wed Aug 21 2024 | 09:46 | Ryan Jeffers Continues To Show Power |
Minnesota Twins catcher Ryan Jeffers went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in Tuesday's loss versus the San Diego Padres. The power hitting catcher now has 20 homers on the season to go along with 59 RBI and a .233 batting average in 326 at-bats. Jeffers has now homered three times over his last 15 at-bats as his power continues to surge. Despite his ability to go yard, he has been in a pretty even timeshare for most of the season with backstop Christian Vazquez. Because of his inconsistent play, Jeffers is hard to recommend on a daily basis in one-catcher leagues, but he is worth rostering in two-catcher formats. |

Sat Aug 3 2024 | 22:55 | Ryan Jeffers Homers In Victory Saturday Over White Sox |
Minnesota Twins catcher Ryan Jeffers homered Saturday in a 6-2 win over the Chicago White Sox. Jeffers hit his 16th homer in the second inning off ace Garrett Crochet. The veteran backstop is now hitting .233 with 16 home runs, 51 RBI, three stolen bases and 40 runs scored. Jeffers has homered in two of his last three games for the Twins and should continue to see regular at-bats for a team fighting for a playoff spot in the AL Central. |

Fri Jul 5 2024 | 08:27 | Ryan Jeffers Hits 14th Homer |
Minnesota Twins catcher Ryan Jeffers put together a strong performance in Thursday's 12-3 victory over the rival Detroit Tigers. Jeffers went 3-for-4 with a two-run homer and three RBI on the day. It was a big game for Jeffers as he has been in a mini slump of late. The backstop has been a productive member of the Twins lineup this season and has provided managers with some nice pop from behind the dish. For season, he is now hitting .237 with 14 home runs and 46 RBI. With those type of numbers from the catcher position, Jeffers is worth rostering in mixed leagues. |

Wed Jun 26 2024 | 07:02 | Ryan Jeffers Homers In Loss To Arizona Tuesday |
Minnesota Twins catcher Ryan Jeffers had a big night at the plate in a 5-4 loss to the Arizona Diamondbacks on Tuesday. Jeffers went 1-for-3 with a three-run homer and a walk but it wasn't quite enough in the one-run loss. The veteran catcher's seventh-inning blast tied the game at 4-4. Jeffers is providing nice power numbers for a catcher this season, hitting .236 with 15 doubles, 13 homers, 30 runs, 41 RBI, and two steals across 220 at-bats. He is just one homer shy of tying his previous career-high of 14, a number he reached both in 2021 and 2023. |

Sun Jun 23 2024 | 14:30 | Ryan Jeffers Not In Sundayâs Lineup |
Minnesota Twins catcher Ryan Jeffers is not in Sunday's lineup as the Twins look to clinch a series victory against the Oakland Athletics. Instead, Christian Vazquez will be behind the dish and bat ninth. After posting an incredible .338/.424/.636 line through April, Jeffers has been in a bit of a slump over the past two months and has begun to lose playing time to Vazquez. Jeffers should be expected to be back in the starting nine on Tuesday when the Twins start a three-game set in the desert against the Diamondbacks as the two backstops have begun to alternate starts. Vazquez has tallied five hits in his past five games with an overall .190/.213/.268 slash line. It is best to fade the 33-year-old backstop in DFS this afternoon as he will face Oakland southpaw Hogan Harris, who has posted a 1.66 ERA, 1.06 WHIP, and an 8:18 BB:K ratio in his previous four starts. |

Thu May 30 2024 | 19:04 | Ryan Jeffers Goes Deep Twice On Thursday |
Minnesota Twins catcher Ryan Jeffers was 2-for-3 with two home runs, three RBI and a walk during Thursday's 7-6 win over the Kansas City Royals. Jeffers is now up to 12 homers on the season which ties him with Shea Langeliers for the most among catchers. The 26-year-old has been a fantastic power option for fantasy managers and is slashing .254/.342/.544 with 36 RBI and two stolen bases. Jeffers looks like a legit top-10 catching option at this point and should be rostered in all formats. |
