Wed Jul 2 | 19:17 | Cal Raleigh on the Bench on Wednesday |
Seattle Mariners catcher Cal Raleigh is out of the starting lineup for Wednesday's contest against the visiting Kansas City Royals. Mitch Garver is behind the plate and will catch right-hander Logan Gilbert while hitting sixth against Royals left-hander Noah Cameron. Raleigh is receiving just his third day off of the season. In all fairness, it's been hard for the M's to sit him down with how dominant he's been on offense in 2025. The 28-year-old switch-hitting catcher has been one of the best players in all of baseball this year and comes into Wednesday's action leading the league with 33 home runs and 71 RBI in 84 games. He's also added a superb .272/.383/.641 slash line, 1.024 OPS, 60 runs scored and nine stolen bases in 371 plate appearances. Even with some regression due in the second half, Raleigh is going to easily finish with a career year in 2025. |

Sun Jun 8 | 14:19 | Cal Raleigh Gets Day Off |
Seattle Mariners catcher Cal Raleigh will head to the bench ahead of Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Angels. This is a well deserved rest day for Raleigh who is in the middle of a hot stretch at the plate. The switch-hitting catcher blasted two home runs during Friday's contest. In his absence, Mitch Garver will start behind the plate and bat cleanup versus left-hander Tyler Anderson. Garver does hit better versus left-handed pitching, but isn't someone worth rostering as a part-time player. Fantasy managers should adjust their lineups ahead of first pitch. |

If you're looking for an angle for DFS, he's hitting for a much higher average against LHP (.242 vs. .293) and has a much higher ISO (.323 vs. .362) against them as well. |

Sat May 17 | 09:26 | Cal Raleigh Hits Home Run No. 14 on Friday |
Seattle Mariners catcher Cal Raleigh went 1-for-3 with a walk, a two-run home run, and two runs scored in Friday's 5-1 win over the Padres. The switch-hitter is up to 14 home runs on the year, and with a 99th-percentile 22.7 percent barrel rate, expect many more to come. The 28-year-old is now the author of a .250/.371/.571 slash line with a .402 wOBA and a 170 wRC+ through 43 games played, even swiping five bags thus far (career high is six). It all makes the 6-foot-2 backstop the highest-scoring catcher for fantasy, and he'll take on the Padres' Nick Pivetta on Saturday, whom he is 4-for-10 off of in his career with three of those hits going for home runs, which makes Raleigh a viable -- albeit expensive -- DFS option for that contest. |

The next closest catcher in the majors has nine home runs ( Logan O'Hoppe). Garver isn't the worst DFS sleeper at the position. The 34-year-old is hitting .231 (12-for-52) this year with a homer, six RBI, six runs and two steals. He has one hit in four career at-bats against the lefty Springs. |
