Wed Jul 2 | 16:19 | Miguel Andujar Expected to Begin Rehab Assignment on Thursday |
Athletics infielder/outfielder Miguel Andujar (oblique) joined Triple-A Las Vegas on Wednesday and is expected to start his minor-league rehab assignment on Thursday as the designated hitter. If Andujar avoids any setbacks on his rehab assignment with the Aviators, it's possible he'll be able to return as early as this weekend for a series against the San Francisco Giants in Sacramento. The 30-year-old veteran has been sidelined since June 2 with a Grade 2 right-oblique strain. When he returns to the big leagues, Andujar should see pretty regular playing time between left field and third base, which is bad news for both Max Muncy and Luis Urias (hamstring). Before his injury, Andujar was hitting a strong .296 (50-for-169) but with only three home runs, 20 RBI, 19 runs and a steal. Fantasy managers in mixed leagues shouldn't be interested in Andujar. |

Wed Jun 4 | 14:25 | Miguel Andujar Could be Out a Couple of Weeks |
Athletics third baseman Miguel Andujar (oblique) suffered a Grade 2 right-oblique strain while swinging on June 1 against the Toronto Blue Jays and landed on the 10-day injured list the next day. Andujar will be out "a couple weeks, if not longer," according to director of sports medicine and rehabilitation Brian Schulman. The 30-year-old veteran Dominican has been valuable for fantasy managers in AL-only leagues despite his lack of counting stats, as he's hit .296 (50-for-169) in 46 games for the A's this year. He has the ability to play both third base and the outfield, too, giving the team more flexibility. Barring a setback with his oblique, Andujar could return to the big-league roster in late June. In the meantime, the A's could mix and match at the hot corner with Luis Urias, Max Schuemann and CJ Alexander. |

Mon Jun 2 | 19:42 | Miguel Andujar Lands on 10-Day Injured List With Oblique Strain |
The Athletics announced on Monday that they placed third baseman/outfielder Miguel Andujar (oblique) on the 10-day injured list with a strained right oblique and recalled outfielder JJ Bleday from Triple-A Las Vegas in a corresponding move. Given the nature of oblique injuries, there's no guarantee that Andujar will be able to return from the IL when he's eligible. The 30-year-old veteran has played both left field and third base for the A's this year and has hit just under .300 in 180 plate appearances, however, it's come with limited counting stats in three home runs, 20 RBI, 19 runs scored and one stolen base in 46 games played. With Andujar out a while, Bleday should see everyday playing time with rookie outfielder Denzel Clarke struggling at the plate in his first taste of big-league pitching. Drew Avans is starting in left field on Monday, while CJ Alexander is at the hot corner for the A's. |

Tue May 20 | 18:26 | Miguel Andujar Back in Lineup at Third Base |
Athletics infielder/outfielder Miguel Andujar (ribs) is back in the starting lineup on Tuesday against the division-rival Los Angeles Angels and right-hander Kyle Hendricks, starting at third base and batting sixth for Game 2 of the four-game series. Andujar was scratched from the lineup on Monday due to soreness in his right rib, but he'll be back in action a day later. The 30-year-old veteran Dominican could be a DFS sleeper on Tuesday in the matchup against Kendricks, who he has gone a perfect 3-for-3 against with three RBI in his career. Andujar is also hitting a strong .312 (39-for-125) on the season, albeit with minimal counting stats of three home runs, 19 RBI, 13 runs scored and one stolen base. He rarely strikes out but also rarely walks and has minimal power and speed for fantasy managers. |

Mon May 19 | 19:49 | Miguel Andujar Scratched on Monday With Rib Soreness |
Athletics outfielder Miguel Andujar (rib) has been scratched from Monday's series opener against the division-rival Los Angeles Angels due to right-rib soreness. Manager Mark Kotsay said that Andujar will probably be available off the bench on Monday, but the team wanted to give him a break from the field. Tyler Soderstrom is in left field and is batting third, while Gio Urshela is playing third base and hitting ninth against Angels right-hander Jose Soriano on Monday in Sacramento. The 30-year-old Andujar appears to be day-to-day for now and could return to the field when the series against the Angels continues on Tuesday at Sutter Health Park. Other than his strong batting average (.312) this year, Andujar has delivered meager production for fantasy managers in AL-only leagues with only three homers, 19 RBI, 13 runs and a stolen base in 125 at-bats. |

Wed May 14 | 07:21 | Miguel Andujar Homers, Delivers Three-Hit Night In A's Blowout Win |
Athletics third baseman/outfielder Miguel Andujar was a key contributor in Tuesday night's 11-1 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers. Andujar went 3-for-5 with two runs scored and two RBI, capping his night with a two-run home run in the ninth inninghis third of the season. He also added a pair of singles, including an RBI knock in the seventh. The 30-year-old is now slashing .319/.347/.442 and has lowered his strikeout rate to a career-best 10.7 K%. Andujar will look to stay hot as the Athletics continue their push for the top spot in the American League West. |

Thu May 1 | 12:43 | Miguel Andujar Starting At Third Base On Thursday |
Athletics infielder Miguel Andujar will make the start at third base and bat fifth in Thursday's series finale against the division-rival Texas Rangers and right-hander Tyler Mahle. This will be Andujar's first start at third base in the big leagues since 2021 with the New York Yankees. The 30-year-old veteran probably won't see enough time at the hot corner to gain eligibility there in fantasy, but the A's have the option to play him there occasionally with Tyler Soderstrom moving to left field once in a while. Andujar is hitting a strong .316 (25-for-79) through his first 22 games with two home runs, 10 RBI and nine runs scored. The Dominican utility man has gone 10-for-23 with a homer, double and triple in six games in the last 14 days. He has never faced Mahle in his career. |

Tue Sep 3 2024 | 12:36 | Miguel Andujar Done For The Season |
Oakland Athletics manager Mark Kotsay confirmed that outfielder Miguel Andujar (core) will have surgery to fix a core-muscle injury and will miss the rest of the season. Andujar was moved to the 60-day injured list on Saturday. "Miguel's been playing with this issue for a few weeks," Kotsay said. "It's a credit to Miguel and testament to the character of the young man, really, to continue to play. It just got to a point where it was uncomfortable sleeping and impacting his daily life as well." Andujar has played in 75 games this year, the second-highest total of his eight seasons in the majors, and he was slashing a solid .285/.320/.377 with four home runs and 30 RBI. With Andujar out for the rest of the 2024 season, it should allow the left-handed-hitting Seth Brown to play more regularly in Oakland's outfield. Brown has been hot lately, going 8-for-22 (.364) with two homers and eight RBI in his last six games. |

Wed Aug 28 2024 | 15:31 | Miguel Andujar Goes On 10-Day Injured List |
The Oakland Athletics placed outfielder Miguel Andujar (core) on the 10-day injured list (retroactive to Aug. 25) on Wednesday with a core-muscle injury and recalled infielder Nick Allen from Triple-A Las Vegas in a corresponding move. Infielder Abraham Toro, who was designated for assignment on Tuesday, has cleared waivers and been outrighted to Vegas. It's unclear if Andujar will be ready to return when he's eligible on Sept. 4. With the 29-year-old sidelined for a bit, Daz Cameron will likely be the primary beneficiary in Oakland's outfield for the time being. Andujar didn't make his 2024 debut until May 24 due to injury but has hit well since returning, slashing .285/.320/.377 with a .697 OPS in 302 at-bats. However, he doesn't have notable power (four homers) or speed (three steals), limiting his fantasy appeal on a bad A's squad. |

Sun Jul 21 2024 | 21:27 | Miguel Andujar Collects Three Hits |
Oakland Athletics third baseman Miguel Andujar has been put together a quietly solid season so far. On Sunday, Andujar went 3-for-5 with a solo home run in what ended up being a loss for Oakland. The 29-year-old smacked a 377-foot home run off Carson Fulmer to give his team the lead. This season, Andujar is slashing .304/.327/.419 with four home runs and 24 RBI in 47 games. He could be a candidate to be moved at the trade deadline with the A's rebuilding their roster. However, a move elsewhere could still mean a part-time role which probably wouldn't help his fantasy value. |

Sat Jun 1 2024 | 23:13 | Miguel Andujar Raps Out Four Hits In Win Over Braves |
Oakland A's outfielder Miguel Andujar had his third multi-hit game this week on Saturday, going 4-for-5 with a homer and four RBI in an 11-9 win at the Atlanta Braves. Andujar hit a three-run blast off Braves hurler Chris Sale in the second inning and added a game-clinching RBI single in the eighth. He's been at a blistering .448/.433/.724 pace with 12 RBI in his first seven games with Oakland. He's unlikely to maintain the run but is worth consideration in AL-only or deeper fantasy leagues. |

Sat May 25 2024 | 08:29 | Miguel Andujar With Three Hits, Two RBI In Season Debut |
Oakland Athletics outfielder Miguel Andujar made his long-awaited season debut on Friday, going 3-for-4 with two RBI in a 6-3 loss to the Astros. Andujar is returning from a torn meniscus he suffered just prior to the beginning of the season. The 29-year-old had a strong showing in spring training, going 15-for-42 (.357) with five home runs and didn't strike out even one time. He also had a strong rehab stint where the right-handed hitter went 7-for-18 (.389) including four doubles and struck out just twice. If Andujar can find regular playing time and continue to hit, he could be a worthy waiver-add in fantasy, however, he's played no more than 45 games in a season since 2018. That season, the Dominican hit .297 with 27 home runs for the Yankees. |

Fri May 17 2024 | 12:34 | Miguel Andujar Drives In Three In First Rehab Game |
Oakland Athletics outfielder Miguel Andujar (knee) went 2-for-3 with a double and three RBI while serving as the designated hitter in his first minor-league rehab game for Triple-A Las Vegas on Thursday evening. Andujar didn't play the entire game, but it was a good first test for the 29-year-old as he attempts to return from a knee injury that has sidelined him all year to this point. Andujar was swinging the bat well in spring training with the A's before injuring his knee, so it looks like he picked up where he left off. Because of the long layoff, the A's are going to make sure he gets enough at-bats in the minors before he makes his 2024 debut. Andujar's role with the A's is to be determined, but he could at least be worth considering in AL-only leagues. |

Tue May 7 2024 | 20:12 | Miguel Andujar Suffers "Slight Setback" |
Oakland Athletics outfielder Miguel Andujar (knee), who had surgery to fix a torn meniscus in his right knee on March 27, resumed taking batting practice, but manager Mark Kotsay said on Sunday that the outfielder is experiencing lateral knee soreness, a "slight setback" that will slow his progress. Andujar was originally given a recovery timeline of at least four to six week. He's expected to join the big-league club after he goes on a minor-league rehab assignment. Given the nature of the 29-year-old's injury and his long layoff, it wouldn't be a surprise if he wasn't able to return to the A's until June. It remains to be seen what role Andujar will have once he makes his 2024 MLB debut. He's a name worth monitoring in AL-only formats once he gets closer to a return. |

Sun Mar 24 2024 | 12:09 | Miguel Andujar Needs Surgery For Torn Meniscus |
Oakland Athletics outfielder Miguel Andujar (knee) will be forced to open the season on the 15-day injured list. Andujar felt discomfort in his right leg while playing left field in a Cactus League game last week, and MRI results on Friday showed a torn meniscus in his right knee. He'll have surgery on March 27, and manager Mark Kotsay said that Andujar is looking at a recovery timeline of at least four to six weeks. It's a bummer for the A's and the 29-year-old, as he hit .357 with a 1.110 OPS and a team-high five home runs in 14 spring games. His absence to open the year now opens the door for No. 5 prospect Darell Hernaiz or non-roster spring standout Hoy Park to make the Opening Day roster. If everything goes well with Andujar's recovery, he could make his 2024 debut at some point in May. |

Sat Apr 29 2023 | 10:20 | Pirates Bring Up Miguel Andujar |
The Pittsburgh Pirates selected the contract of outfielder Miguel Andujar from Triple-A Indianapolis on Saturday and optioned infielder Drew Maggi to Double-A Altoona in a corresponding move. To make room on the 40-man roster, right-hander Wil Crowe (shoulder) was moved to the 60-day injured list. Maggi was also named the 27th man for Saturday's doubleheader against the Washington Nationals. Andujar is in right field and batting sixth in Game 1 of the twin bill against Nationals left-hander Patrick Corbin. The 28-year-old was hitting well in the minors, but the former Yankee is unlikely to see much playing time in Pittsburgh for however long he's up. In 36 games with the Yanks and Bucs in 2022, he hit .235 with a homer, 17 RBI and four stolen bases. |

Fri Jan 20 2023 | 17:26 | Pirates Designate Miguel Andujar For Assignment |
The Pittsburgh Pirates designated infielder Miguel Andujar for assignment on Friday to make room on the 40-man roster for the recently signed Andrew McCutchen. The former New York Yankee, Andujar appeared in only 36 games in 2022 (27 with the Yankees) and slashed .235/.257/.311 with a .568 OPS, one home runs, 17 RBI, 13 runs scored and four stolen bases in 140 plate appearances. The 27-year-old hit .297 with an .855 OPS, 27 home runs and 92 RBI in his first full big-league season in 2018 with the Yankees, but he's struggled to come anywhere near that mark since. If Andujar goes unclaimed on waivers, there's a good chance he could return to Pittsburgh's organization and serve as infield depth in 2023. |

Tue Sep 27 2022 | 00:30 | Miguel Andujar Plates Run In Pirates Debut Monday |
Pittsburgh Pirates corner infielder/outfielder Miguel Andujar went 1-for-3 with a single, an RBI, a walk, and a strikeout in Monday's 8-3 win over the Reds. The 27-year-old was claimed off waivers by the Pirates from the New York Yankees on Sunday. Andujar had some fantasy intrigue around him earlier in his career but never got the opportunity to consistently play with the Yankees. He has put together a poor .232/.257/.283 slash line in 105 big-league plate appearances this season but had a much better .285/.330/.487 slash line in 297 plate appearances with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. Maybe Andujar will be able to finally generate some fantasy value in 2023 with the potential for consistent playing time. |

Mon Sep 26 2022 | 17:59 | Miguel Andujar Hitting Third In Pirates Debut |
Pittsburgh Pirates third baseman/outfielder Miguel Andujar is serving as the designated hitter and is batting third on Monday against the Cincinnati Reds and right-hander Chase Anderson in his Pirates debut. The Bucs claimed Andujar off waivers from the New York Yankees after he was designated for assignment late last week. The 27-year-old Dominican played in just 27 games for the Yankees this year and hit only .229 (22-for-96) with a homer and eight RBI, but he played well while in the minor leagues and could see considerable playing time to close out the 2022 season with his new team, making him worth a look in NL-only and deep mixed leagues. |

Mon Sep 26 2022 | 11:03 | Pirates Claim Miguel Andujar Off Waivers From Yankees |
The Pittsburgh Pirates claimed infielder/outfielder Miguel Andujar off waivers from the New York Yankees on Sunday. The Yankees designated Andujar for assignment last Thursday and will now land with a new organization to close out the 2022 season. Andujar has spent most of his time this year in the minor leagues, hitting .285/.330/.487 with an .817 OPS, 13 home runs, 51 RBI, 42 runs scored and five stolen bases in 71 games with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. He played in just 27 games with the Yanks, going 22-for-96 (.229) with a homer, eight RBI, nine runs scored and four stolen bases. The 27-year-old Dominican should have a better chance of sticking in the big leagues with Pittsburgh. |
