Fri Aug 110:46Jakob Marsee Heading to Big Leagues
According to Robert Murray, outfielder Jakob Marsee is being called up by the Miami Marlins on Friday. The Marlins traded Jesus Sanchez on Thursday, which opened up a spot for Marsee on the big league roster. The 24-year-old was traded to Miami in the deal that sent Luis Arraez to the San Diego Padres. This season, Marsee is slashing .246/.379/.438 with 14 home runs, 37 RBI, and 47 steals in 98 games in Triple-A. He'll likely only be a platoon option, so his fantasy value figures to be limited right now.

Tue Jul 814:10Jakob Marsee Pacing International League in Steals
Miami Marlins outfield prospect Jakob Marsee is leading Triple-A's International League with 39 steals. The 24-year-old is getting on base at a .369 clip thanks to a 14.6 percent walk rate, and although the batting average stands at .242, he's been hitting much better as of late. The left-handed hitter went 30-for-76 (.395) in 20 games from June 10 to July 2, before cooling off over the last three games (1-for-12). He's shown these flashes of hot hitting in the past, even winning the 2023 Arizona Fall League MVP, but is a career .238 hitter in the minors, so uses his ability to draw walks to get on base consistently and steal bases, notching 97 steals in 2023 and 2024 combined. This recent hot stretch of hitting could punch his ticket to the majors for a debut soon, but it will be his stolen base acumen that will provide fantasy value when he's finally there.

Thu Apr 2422:58Jakob Marsee Up To 18 Steals At Triple-A
Miami Marlins outfield prospect Jakob Marsee went 2-for-5 with an RBI and two stolen bases on Thursday for Triple-A Jacksonville. The 23-year-old has now hit safely in nine of the last 11 games, going 12-for-37 (.324) over that stretch, slashing .240/.412/.427 on the year. A strong walk rate of 17.0 percent has provided that elite OBP, which has in turn allowedhim to unleash his stolen base prowess, now with 18 after Thursday's game, which is the most in Triple-A by far. Fantasy managers in NL-only leagues that are in need of steals should keep an eye out for a promotion in the coming months, as the former Arizona Fall League MVP could provide a boost as soon as he arrives.

Thu Apr 1000:10Jakob Marsee Tallies League-Leading 12th Stolen Base On Wednesday
Miami Marlins outfield prospect Jakob Marsee has run wild on the basepaths early on for Triple-A Jacksonville. Despite going 0-for-3 on Wednesday, the 23-year-old managed to steal two bases, swiping both second base and third base after he was hit by a pitch in the fifth inning. Even though the left-handed hitter is batting a paltry .156 on the young season, nine walks have helped him to a .386 OBP, which has enabled him to utilize his elite speed, now with 12 stolen bases through the season's first 10 games. He hit .200 last season and still stole 51 bags, so this is nothing new, but if he could get the bat going, he would be an even greater threat on the basepaths. He won the 2023 Arizona Fall League MVP award after slashing .391/.508/.707 in 24 games as a 22-year-old, so the hit tool is in there somewhere. According to MLB.com's Top Prospects list, which has Marsee as the Marlins' 24th-ranked prospect, he's expected to make his major league debut in 2025. Managers in very deep and NL-only leagues that are in need of steals may want to keep an eye on him for when he gets the call.

Wed Apr 212:07Jakob Marsee Showing Elite Speed At Triple-A
Miami Marlins outfield prospect Jakob Marsee has swiped four bags across the first four contests of the Triple-A regular season. While he has only tallied one hit across these games, Marsee has drawn five walks (.368 OBP) and made a significant impact on the basepaths. After not swiping a bag in the season opener, Marsee stole at least one in his past three games and posted a two-steal performance on Tuesday evening. Marsee is considered the No. 24 prospect in the Miami system on MLB Pipeline. Last summer, the 23-year-old spent most of his time at the Double-A level but finished the season at Triple-A. Across 115 total contests, Marsee swiped an impressive 44 bags while posting a modest .185 AVG but having a solid .341 OBP. If Marsee is able to develop his bat, he could become a prospect to monitor, given his elite speed. His upside is limited for now, as he relies heavily on his eye to reach first base.
