Tue Sep 1618:29Trevor Megill to be Re-Evaluated on Tuesday
Milwaukee Brewers relief pitcher Trevor Megill (elbow) is scheduled to be re-evaluated after feeling soreness in his elbow following a batting practice session. The right-hander was cleared to face hitters last week but mentioned feeling elbow discomfort following the session. That being said, it doesn't sound like Megill is on the verge of returning to the Brewers bullpen. He has been on the shelf for nearly a month due to a right flexor strain. The Brewers have been using a committee approach of Abner Uribe, Jared Koenig, and Aaron Ashby while Megill is out. Fantasy managers should check back on Wednesday for another update on Megill's status. However, it seems unlikely that he's going to offer much fantasy value down the stretch of the season.

Thu Sep 421:26Trevor Megill Expected to Return by Sept. 16
Milwaukee Brewers closer Trevor Megill (elbow) threw a successful bullpen session on Thursday and is on track to come off the 15-day injured list by Sept. 16, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports. Megill has been on the IL retroactive to Aug. 25 with a Grade 1 flexor strain in his right elbow, leaving Abner Uribe as the Brewers' primary choice for saves. A first-time All-Star this season, Megill has converted 30 of 36 save chances and pitched to a 2.54 ERA with a 1.15 WHIP, 58 strikeouts, and 17 walks in 46 innings.

Mon Sep 119:02Trevor Megill to Throw Bullpen Session on Thursday
Milwaukee Brewers relief pitcher Trevor Megill (elbow) is scheduled to throw a bullpen session on Thursday, according to manager Pat Murphy. Megill has been playing catch and appears to be ready to take the next step. The right-hander has been sidelined since last Wednesday due to a Grade 1 right flexor strain. The hope is that Megill can return when first eligible on September 9. The Brewers are unlikely going to push anything with a playoff spot basically locked up. Abner Uribe has been getting a majority of the save chances with Megill sidelined. Uribe is worth rostering in fantasy formats where saves matter.

Wed Aug 2716:11Brewers Place Trevor Megill on Injured List With Flexor Strain
The Milwaukee Brewers announced on Wednesday that they placed right-handed reliever Trevor Megill (elbow) on the 15-day injured list (retroactive to Aug. 25) with a right flexor strain and signed right-hander Erick Fedde to an undisclosed one-year deal in a corresponding move. The team also moved right-hander Logan Henderson (elbow) to the 60-day IL, ending his season. This could help explain why Megill has blown three of his last four save chances for the Brew Crew by allowing four runs (three earned) on seven hits in four innings. The Brewers haven't officially announced who will take over the club's closing role in Megill's absence, but the favorite should probably be right-hander Abner Uribe. Fantasy managers in need of saves should run to the waiver wire now and add him if he's available. The 31-year-old Megill has a career-high 30 saves this year and should be stashed in all fantasy leagues.UPDATE: Imaging showed a mild Grade 1 strain, and Megill hopes it will be close to the minimal IL time. "My intentions are to be off on 15 (days) and I'm gonna do everything in my power to make that happen," he said.

Wed Jul 922:00Trevor Megill Mows Down Dodgers in Win
Milwaukee Brewers closer Trevor Megill (2-2) earned his second victory of the season in a 3-2 defeat of the Los Angeles Dodgers on Wednesday. The flamethrowing right-hander entered a 2-2 game in the top of the 10th inning and dominated, striking out Freddie Freeman, Andy Pages, and Tommy Edman in order on 13 pitches (11 strikes). The Brewers won in the bottom of the 10th on a Jackson Chourio walk-off single. Megill, meanwhile, dropped his ERA to 2.41 with 21 saves, a 1.16 WHIP, and 43 strikeouts against 15 walks in 33 2/3 innings. He earned his first All-Star selection on Wednesday.

Sun Jul 623:10Trevor Megill Notches 20th Save
Milwaukee Brewers closer Trevor Megill pitched a perfect ninth inning Sunday to earn his 20th save in a 3-1 win over the Miami Marlins. Megill picked up a pair of strikeouts and needed just 12 pitches to finish off Miami. The 31-year-old right-hander lowered his ERA to 2.56 with 38:15 K:BB and a 1.23 WHIP over 31 2/3 innings. Megill ranks sixth in the league in saves and has converted 87% percent of his opportunities this year.

Fri Jul 423:39Trevor Megill Works Out of Trouble for 19th Save
Milwaukee Brewers closer Trevor Megill pitched a scoreless ninth inning to pick up his 19th save in a 6-5 win over the Miami Marlins on Friday. It wasn't easy for Megill, who required 32 pitches to finish off the Marlins after putting a pair of runners on with a single and a walk. Megill escaped a two-out jam by fanning Otto Lopez to give Milwaukee its 49th win of the year. That was the lone strikeout for Megill in his first save since June 25. The hard-throwing 31-year-old has put up a 2.64 ERA with 36:15 K:BB, a 1.25 WHIP, and four blown saves in 30 2/3 innings.

Wed Jun 2523:16Trevor Megill Locks Down 18th Save
Milwaukee Brewers closer Trevor Megill pitched a 1-2-3 ninth inning on Wednesday to collect his 18th save in a 4-2 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates. Megill had an easy time of it, inducing a soft grounder from Oneil Cruz, striking out Tommy Pham, and wrapping it up with a Jared Triolo lineout to right. The right-hander needed a mere 10 pitches to get the job done. Megill has been a steady option this year with 18 saves in 20 opportunities, a 2.60 ERA, and 33:14 K:BB in 27 2/3 innings.

Sun Jun 2218:34Trevor Megill Earns 17th Save
Milwaukee Brewers relief pitcher Trevor Megill was asked to come on a little earlier than normal during Sunday's game against the Minnesota Twins. Megill was able to get out of the eighth inning and toss a scoreless ninth inning to earn his 17th save of the season. He earned a four-out save, allowing one hit, one walk, and struck out one batter during this outing. Megill has been a viable option in the closer role this season and should be rostered and started in most fantasy formats. The Brewers are winning enough games lately that Megill is getting regular save chances.

Tue Jun 300:39Trevor Megill Earns 12th Save Of Season Monday
Milwaukee Brewers closer Trevor Megill picked up his 12th save of the season in Monday's 3-2 win over the Reds. Megill came in to pitch the bottom of the ninth inning up by one and delivered a 1-2-3 performance with a strikeout. The 31-year-old has been solid in 2025, converting all but one of his save opportunities with a 2.21 ERA, a 1.23 WHIP, a 9.74 K/9 rate, and a 4.87 BB/9 rate in 20 1/3 innings of work. The walks have been a bit concerning, but Megill appears to have firm control over the closer's role and has provided plenty of fantasy value so far this season.

Tue May 2708:55Trevor Megill Locks Down Save No. 10
Milwaukee Brewers relief pitcher Trevor Megill closed out the Red Sox on Monday afternoon to earn his 10th save of the season. He entered to start the ninth with a 3-1 lead but walked a pair and gave up an RBI single to Jarren Duran to make the score 3-2. After intentionally walking Rafael Devers for his third free pass of the outing, he got Connor Wong to fly out to right field to end the game. While it wasn't a stress-free outing, for sure, he was able to get the job done. He will likely be unavailable Tuesday after throwing 52 pitches in the last two games, but the 31-year-old righty is still the primary closer for the Brew Crew. If there is a save chance on Tuesday, Jared Koenig would likely be the team's top option since set-up man Abner Uribe has also pitched two days in a row.

Fri May 2309:44Trevor Megill Secures His Eighth Save of The Season
Milwaukee Brewers closer Trevor Megill secured his eighth save of the season on Thursday against the Pittsburgh Pirates and helped the Brewers hold on to win 8-5 in the contest. Megill entered the game in the bottom of the ninth, with the Brewers up 8-4, and a runner on second and third base with no outs. He took care of the next three batters with a punch out, ground out, and line out. Megill has now converted his last six save opportunities while posting a 0.93 ERA and 9:4 K:BB across his previous 9.2 innings. After a tough start to the 2025 season, he has found his groove, lowered his season ERA to 2.20, and converted eight of his nine save opportunities on the season. He remains a solid option in leagues that accumulate points for saves.

Tue Apr 1523:34Trevor Megill Ready To Go
MLB.com's Adam McCalvy reports that Milwaukee Brewers right-handed reliever Trevor Megill (knee) was available to pitch in Sunday's series finale against the Arizona Diamondbacks and in Monday's series opener against the Detroit Tigers. Megill blew the save and took the loss against Arizona on Saturday by allowing three earned runs on two hits while walking three, and then he revealed that he recently underwent an MRI exam on his knee. After seeking a second opinion, the 31-year-old veteran is apparently alright to continue pitching, but he has not appeared since his blowup outings on Saturday. Megill's performance is worth keeping a close eye on after his knee injury, but as things stand now, he should still be considered the Brewers' favorite for save opportunities. However, he has only one save so far in 2025 to go with a bloated 5.79 ERA and 1.71 WHIP in 4 2/3 innings.

Mon Mar 2416:35Trevor Megill Returns To Cactus League Action On Monday
Milwaukee Brewers right-hander Trevor Megill is scheduled to pitch in Cactus League action on Monday against the Colorado Rockies for the first time since March 15, according to MLB.com's Adam McCalvy. The Brewers haven't announced any kind of injury for Megill, though, and he has been pitching in minor-league games instead. As long as everything is good with the 31-year-old heading into Opening Day on Thursday versus the New York Yankees, Megill is expected to open the year as the Brewers' primary closing option now that Devin Williams is in the Bronx. In 46 1/3 innings in a high-leverage role for the Brew Crew last year, Megill was solid with a 2.72 ERA, 1.01 WHIP, 50 strikeouts and 14 walks while also picking up the first 21 saves of his career. Durability as the No. 1 closer for Milwaukee is a concern, but Megill's fastball-curve combo generates plenty of swing and miss.

Sun Mar 220:15Trevor Megill Makes Spring Debut
Milwaukee Brewers relief pitcher Trevor Megill (undisclosed) made his spring training debut on Friday against the San Francisco Giants. Megill logged one inning of work and allowed one earned run and one hit. He tallied one punchout and did serve up a free pass. The 31-year-old has been limited in camp due to an undisclosed injury. However, seeing him return to game action early in camp suggests the injury is not serious and will not put him in danger of missing Opening Day. Earlier in the offseason, the Brewers shipped their closer, Devin Williams, to the Yankees, which should open the door for Megill to see the vast majority of save opportunities. When Williams missed time last season, Megill operated as the top closer. Across 46 1/3 innings of work, Megill held a 2.72 ERA with a 1.01 WHIP. He tallied 21 saves with 50 strikeouts. He generated a strong .209 xBA and a 2.83 xERA. Fantasy managers should view him as a solid relief pitcher in all formats as he should carry 20+ save upside pitching for the Brewers.

Thu Feb 1308:08Trevor Megill Delayed By Undisclosed Injury
According to Adam McCalvy of MLB.com, Milwaukee Brewers relief pitcher Trevor Megill (undisclosed) has been "pushed back" by a minor health issue in a recent throwing session. However, manager Pat Murphy said Megill is "fine." Fantasy managers should continue to monitor Megill's status during spring training in case he continues to face delays in his progression schedule. With Devin Williams now in the Bronx, Megill is slated to be the team's top closer. However, given this potential injury, he may carry some risk, especially if he continues to be limited during the spring. If Megill were to miss time, Abner Uribe and Joel Payamps would compete for the save opportunities. Last season, Megill tallied 21 saves across 46 1/3 innings. He posted a 2.72 ERA with a 1.01 WHIP. If Megill is healthy heading into Opening Day, he should provide a high floor for save totals during the 2025 season.

Sun Dec 15 202419:19Trevor Megill, Abner Uribe Have Path To Closer Role
According to Adam McCalvy of MLB.com, both Trevor Megill and Abner Uribe have a viable path to operate as the closer during the 2025 season. With Devin Williams being traded to the New York Yankees, the ninth-inning role in Milwaukee is currently vacated. When Williams missed time during the first half of last summer with a back injury, Megill and Uribe both saw ample opportunities. Megill converted 20 saves, while Uribe only tallied three. However, Uribe was given the first save opportunity of the season but struggled to hold the job. Megill generated a solid 2.83 xERA, while Uribe posted a high 4.78 xERA. In addition, southpaw Aaron Ashby could also be a sleeper candidate for the role as he posted a stellar 1.37 ERA and 0.76 WHIP across his final 19 2/3 innings of relief last summer. For now, Megill should be viewed as the frontrunner and the name to target in early drafts.

Wed Aug 14 202420:12Trevor Megill To Start Rehab Assignment On Thursday
Milwaukee Brewers right-handed reliever Trevor Megill (back) will begin a minor-league rehab assignment with High-A Wisconsin on Thursday. Megill lost most of his fantasy appeal when regular closer Devin Williams returned from a lengthy injured-list stint, but Megill should return to a high-leverage bullpen role once he's activated from the 15-day injured list. The 30-year-old has been on the shelf with a lower-back injury since late July but is nearing a return to the big-league bullpen. The former seventh-round pick by the San Diego Padres in 2015 out of Loyola Marymount University currently leads the Brewers relief corps with the first 20 saves of his career, and he's also posted a career-best 2.41 ERA, a 1.04 WHIP and a strong 40:8 K:BB in 33 2/3 innings out of the bullpen. Megill will continue to be valuable in holds leagues when he's back in Milwaukee.

Wed Aug 7 202421:57Trevor Megill Could Return Next Week
Milwaukee Brewers relief pitcher Trevor Megill (back) said on Wednesday that he expects to be pitching in a game somewhere next week. He played catch on Saturday, and depending on whether or not he'll need an abbreviated minor-league rehab assignment, it sounds like he'll have a chance at rejoining Milwaukee's bullpen sometime in mid-August. Megill collected 20 saves with an excellent 2.41 ERA while holding down the ninth-inning fort for injured closer Devin Williams during the first half of the season, but he landed on the injured list on July 29 with a lower-back injury right after Williams returned. Although Megill already surrendered a huge chunk of fantasy appeal when Williams was reinstated from the IL, the hard-throwing 30-year-old right-hander should return to a high-leverage role out of the Brewers' bullpen, and he could handle the occasional save chance when the closer is unavailable.

Mon Aug 5 202421:44Trevor Megill Resumes Throwing
Milwaukee Brewers relief pitcher Trevor Megill (back) tested his back for the first time prior to Saturday's game against the hosting Washington Nationals by playing catch, and he was scheduled to be re-evaluated in the subsequent days. Megill logged 20 saves with a 2.41 ERA while filling in for injured closer Devin Williams during the first half of the year, but he ended up landing on the injured list a day after Williams rejoined Milwaukee's bullpen. Megill had been dealing with back discomfort for about five days before the club placed him on the IL, but an MRI scan returned "favorable" results, manager Pat Murphy has previously said. The hard-throwing 30-year-old right-hander remains without a clear timetable for a return to the Brewers, however, and he already lost most of his fantasy appeal upon Williams' return.
