Mon Aug 415:08Dom Hamel to be Called Up from Triple-A for MLB Debut
New York Mets pitching prospect Dom Hamel will be called up from Triple-A Syracuse for what will be his major league debut whenever he enters a game. The Mets' 27th-ranked prospect has an underwhelming 4.73 ERA and 1.26 WHIP in 22 appearances (eight starts) at Syracuse this year, however, the righty does own a solid 25.8 percent strikeout rate with a below-average 6.6 percent walk rate. Even so, he'll likelyslot in as a middlereliever, and without save chances in his future, the 6-foot-2 hurler can be left to fantasy waiver wires for now. RHP Austin Warren was optioned to Syracuse in a corresponding move.

Thu Apr 308:01Dom Hamel Tosses Five Shutout Frames In Season Debut
New York Mets right-handed pitcher Dom Hamel tossed five shutout innings in his Triple-A season debut on Wednesday evening. Hamel allowed just two hits and struck out three batters. This was a strong season debut for Hamel, who was in the mix to make the Opening Day roster. Even though Hamel fell short in the competition, the Mets could call his name later this summer. He was drafted in the third round of the 2021 MLB Draft out of Dallas Baptist. Last summer, he spent the entire campaign with Triple-A Syracuse and held a high 6.79 ERA with a 1.75 WHIP across 124 2/3 innings (27 starts). However, the right-hander was able to enjoy a strong season debut with Syracuse, which is a promising sign. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor Hamel's progression at Triple-A as he could be in the mix for his MLB debut later in the summer.
