Fri Aug 123:22Bryce Miller Stellar in Triple-A Rehab Outing
Seattle Mariners right-hander Bryce Miller (elbow) cruised over four scoreless innings and 52 pitches in his first rehab start with Triple-A Tacoma on Friday. Miller, who's working back from elbow inflammation, tossed 42 strikes, gave up one hit, and tallied six strikeouts against no walks in his first game since June 6. The 26-year-old turned heads during a superb 2024 campaign, but he hasn't stayed healthy or performed well this season. Miller has been on the 15-day injured list twice with elbow issues and has gone 2-5 with a bloated 5.73 ERA, a 1.54 WHIP, and 39:23 K:BB in a 10-start, 48 2/3-inning span. The Mariners expect Miller to return in mid-August. If he's able to shake off his elbow troubles, Miller could provide a boost for playoff-contending Seattle and perhaps fantasy managers over the final several weeks of the season.

Fri Aug 109:24Bryce Miller Scheduled to Begin a Rehab Assignment on Friday
Seattle Mariners right-hander, Bryce Miller (elbow), is scheduled to begin a minor-league rehab assignment with Triple-A Tacoma on Friday, per MLB.com. Friday will be Miller's first game action since June 6, and the Mariners are reportedly targeting 55 pitches for the 26-year-old in this start. He will likely make two, perhaps three rehab starts before re-joining the Mariners rotation. Once he returns, Logan Evans is likely the odd man out to be sent back to Triple-A. That being said, it's been tough sledding for Miller in 2025; he has a 5.73 ERA, 1.54 WHIP, and a 39/23 K/BB ratio in 48 2/3 innings pitched. Pretty far removed from his breakout campaign in 2024, where he had a 2.94 ERA in 180 1/3 innings pitched. Miller is worth a stash if he was dropped in your leagues, and those that have him stashed on their IL should view it as a pleasant surprise if you can get a few solid starts down the stretch as we head towards fantasy playoffs after a lost season for Miller, for the most part.

Tue Jul 2212:18Bryce Miller Could Make Rehab Start on Friday
Seattle Mariners right-hander Bryce Miller (elbow) will either throw a second live batting practice session or make a minor-league rehab start with Triple-A Tacoma on Friday, per MLB.com. Miller threw 25 pitches in his first live BP session on Saturday while using all his pitches. He came away feeling good, which is why he's ready to take the next step later this week as he works his way back from right-elbow inflammation that landed him on the 15-day injured list on June 7. Because of how long the 26-year-old has been out, he'll likely require at least a couple rehab starts before rejoining the M's starting rotation, which means we probably won't see Miller until August. It's been a disappointing 2025 season for Miller after posting a 2.94 ERA last year. Through 10 starts, he has a 5.73 ERA, 1.54 WHIP and 39:23 K:BB in 48 2/3 innings.

Fri Jul 1823:52Bryce Miller to Throw Live Batting Practice Saturday
Seattle Mariners right-hander Bryce Miller (elbow) is expected to throw live batting practice on Saturday, according to Tim Booth of the Seattle Times. Miller previously threw a bullpen session this past Tuesday as he works back from elbow inflammation. The 26-year-old has gone on the 15-day injured list twice this season because of elbow troubles and hasn't pitched in the majors since June 6. With poor elbow health weighing him down, Miller has been unable to build on what looked like a breakthrough 2024 campaign. He has managed just 48 2/3 innings across 10 starts and pitched to a bloated 5.73 ERA with a 1.54 WHIP, 39 strikeouts, and 23 walks.

Tue Jul 109:11Bryce Miller Resumes Throwing
Seattle Mariners starting pitcher Bryce Miller (elbow) continues to work his way back from a bone spur in his elbow that has kept him out since June 7. After starting a light throwing program in Arizona at the team facility, Miller returned to Seattle on Monday and went through a workout in the outfield that included playing catch from 90 feet. Miller stated that his goal is to throw live batting practice during the All-Star break, which would keep him on his timeline to return to action towards the end of July. He received a platelet-rich plasma injection on June 10 and was completely shut down for two weeks after that and is now ramping back up. He will likely need a rehab stint, but could return to the Seattle rotation at the end of July or early in August.

Tue Jun 1020:18Bryce Miller Could Return in 4-6 Weeks
After meeting with Dr. Keith Meister, Seattle Mariners right-hander Bryce Miller (elbow) will be shut down from throwing for two weeks and could be available to come off the 15-day injured list in four to six weeks if everything goes well. Miller will also receive a platelet-rich plasma injection in his troublesome right elbow. The 26-year-old went back on the 15-day IL on Tuesday with inflammation while dealing with a bone spur in his right elbow. After returning from a three-week absence in May, he gave up eight earned runs on 11 hits (two homers) while walking two and striking out only four in nine innings in two starts against the Twins and Angels. The M's recalled rookie Logan Evans to make a spot start on Tuesday against Arizona, but the good news is that Logan Gilbert (elbow) is expected to rejoin the rotation at some point next week. We won't see Miller again until the second half of the season.

Tue Jun 1009:10Bryce Miller Goes Back on the Injured List
Seattle Mariners starting pitcher Bryce Miller (elbow) will not make his scheduled start on Wednesday of this week and will instead return to the 15-day injured list. He missed most of May with a bone spur in his elbow and struggled in his two starts since returning, allowing eight runs on 11 hits in nine innings against the Twins and Angels. While the team hasn't given a timetable for his return, he definitely didn't look 100% in those two outings. He has an ugly 5.73 ERA and 4.41 FIP in his 10 games this season, and his numbers have been disappointing across the board. He showed a ton of promise last season with the Mariners, so if you can stash him in an IL spot, he's still worth holding until we get a clearer timetable in the hopes that the extra time helps him return to his 2024 form.

Fri May 3009:15Bryce Miller Returning to the Starting Rotation Saturday
Seattle Mariners young right-hander Bryce Miller (elbow) is expected to make his return from the injured list and start Saturday's game against the Minnesota Twins, Shannon Drayer of SeattleSports.com reports. Miller was put on the injured list May 14 with elbow inflammation, and it seems the Mariners will opt out of requiring a rehab assignment for him and immediately plug him back into the rotation. It's unclear if the 26-year-old will have any workload limitations Saturday, but fantasy managers should consider that as they decide whether or not to start him. Miller will take on a Twins offense that's struggled a bit lately as he tries to improve his 5.22 ERA, 1.54 WHIP, and 35:21 K:BB on the season. Miller will take Logan Evans' spot in the rotation, as the Mariners optioned Evans to Triple-A Tacoma on Wednesday.

Tue May 2721:59Bryce Miller Dealing with Bone Spur in Elbow
Seattle Mariners starting pitcher Bryce Miller (elbow) has a bone spur in the back of his pitching elbow, which caused the inflammation, reports Daniel Kramer of MLB.com. Miller feels good after resting his elbow since May 11, and the Mariners don't anticipate any further management of the spur or inflammation. He's nearing a return from the injured list, with reports that he could skip a rehab assignment and start for Seattle as early as this weekend. He was struggling prior to the injury, as he has posted a 5.22 ERA and 1.54 WHIP so far this year.

Thu May 2218:09Bryce Miller to Throw Sim Game on Friday, Could Skip Rehab Assignment
Seattle Mariners right-hander Bryce Miller (elbow) said he will throw an up-and-down, two-inning simulated game on Friday before the team's series opener against the Houston Astros at Daikin Park and will operate on a six-day routine going forward. Miller thinks he can avoid a minor-league rehab assignment and rejoin Seattle's starting rotation soon, barring a setback. The 26-year-old landed on the 15-day injured list on May 12 with inflammation in his right elbow, but it's nothing too serious and he could be back for fantasy managers very soon. Even though it hasn't been the start that many expected out of Miller in 2025, fantasy managers should stay patient as he recovers from his elbow issue. The former fourth-rounder in 2021 out of Texas A&M has gone 2-4 through his first eight starts with a bloated 5.22 ERA and 1.54 WHIP with 35 K's and 21 walks in 39 2/3 innings pitched.

Wed May 2121:17Bryce Miller Plays Catch
Seattle Mariners starting pitcher Bryce Miller (elbow) played catch in the outfield before Wednesday's game in Chicago, his first activity since receiving a cortisone shot in his elbow on May 13. He had been dealing with elbow soreness through most of the season. There's still no clear timetable for his recovery, but the fact that he is beginning to throw again is good news. Especially when the elbow is involved, it's positive to see that this isn't looking like an extremely long absence.

Tue May 2019:28Bryce Miller Throws Bullpen on Tuesday
Seattle Mariners right-hander Bryce Miller (elbow) threw a bullpen session before the game in Chicago against the White Sox on Tuesday, according to Seattle Sports' Shannon Drayer. Miller landed on the 15-day injured list last Wednesday with inflammation in his right elbow, but it's a good sign he's already throwing a bullpen session. The 26-year-old received a cortisone shot last Tuesday, and the Mariners are optimistic that he'll be ready to return from the IL when he's first eligible next Tuesday. The 26-year-old's elbow injury could help explain his disappointing 5.22 ERA and 1.54 WHIP in his first eight starts covering 39 2/3 innings this year. With Miller, Logan Gilbert (elbow) and George Kirby (shoulder) all currently sidelined, right-hander Logan Evans is currently in Seattle's rotation. Miller should be stashed in all fantasy leagues while he recovers.

Wed May 1415:07Mariners Place Bryce Miller On 15-Day Injured List With Elbow Inflammation
Seattle Mariners executive vice president and general manager of baseball operations Justin Hollander announced on Wednesday that the team placed right-hander Bryce Miller (elbow) on the 15-day injured list (retroactive to May 12) with right-elbow inflammation and recalled left-hander Jhonathan Diaz from Triple-A Tacoma in a corresponding move. It helps explain why Miller was torched for seven runs on eight hits while walking two over five innings of work in his last outing on Sunday against the Toronto Blue Jays. The 26-year-old received a cortisone shot in his elbow on Tuesday, and the M's are optimistic he'll be able to return from the IL when eligible on May 27. It's possible that Diaz, 28, could take Miller's spot in the rotation and start this weekend in San Diego against the Padres. In his one relief appearance for Seattle this year, Diaz threw 1 1/3 scoreless innings with a strikeout against the Tigers.

Wed Apr 3015:12Bryce Miller Battles Through Back Injury On Tuesday
Seattle Mariners right-hander Bryce Miller (back) said that his back "locked up" on him before his outing on Tuesday against the division-rival Los Angeles Angels to the point where he opted not to sit down between innings and make it worse. In addition to his back injury, Miller dealt with arm soreness earlier in April. "One thing after another that hasn't been major, but just been nagging," Miller said. The 26-year-old was still able to work five scoreless innings in the win over the Halos on Tuesday for his second win of the season, although he walked a season-high five batters and struck out six. Miller will remain a must-start in fantasy in his next scheduled outing next Monday against the division-rival Athletics, but his health will be worth watching closely. In his first six starts in 2025, Miller has gone 2-3 with a 3.52 ERA, 1.43 WHIP and 31:19 K:BB in 30 2/3 innings pitched.

Thu Apr 1700:25Bryce Miller Strikes Out Eight
Seattle Mariners starting pitcher Bryce Miller picked up the win on Wednesday, striking out eight batters over five scoreless innings in a 5-3 victory over the Reds. He allowed three hits and walked two. This was his first win of the season and his best start so far. He cruised through five and was pulled from the game with 78 pitches, so he may have had room for even more. He'll carry a 3.43 ERA into his next start, currently lined up to be against the Red Sox at Fenway.

Sat Mar 1513:34Bryce Miller Ironing Out The Kinks In Spring Training
Seattle Mariners right-hander Bryce Miller (finger) missed his last start of the 2024 campaign due to a blister on his right index finger. While he's been healthy this spring, Miller's results in Cactus League action haven't been stellar. In just two starts covering four innings pitched, the 26-year-old has allowed three earned runs on four hits (one homer) while walking one and striking out five. It's an extremely small sample size, and the only thing that matters is that Miller's blister issue hasn't cropped back up. Fantasy managers should be targeting Miller as a strong No. 2 rotation piece this year after the former fourth-rounder went 12-8 with a 2.94 ERA (3.58 FIP), 0.98 WHIP and 171:45 K:BB in 180 1/3 innings over 31 starts in just his second year in the big leagues. If he can stay healthy, Miller has the stuff to take his game to the next level after breaking out in 2024.

Sat Sep 28 202412:51Bryce Miller Won't Make Another Start This Weekend
Seattle Mariners interim manager Dan Wilson said that right-hander Emerson Hancock will be called up from the minors to start Saturday's contest at T-Mobile Park against the division-rival Oakland Athletics, and right-hander Logan Gilbert will take the ball for the season finale on Sunday. The rotation decisions for the team's final two games of the season -- they were eliminated from postseason contention on Friday -- mean that right-hander Bryce Miller won't make another start in 2024. The 26-year-old had a breakout campaign in his second year in the big leagues, going 12-8 with a shiny 2.94 ERA (3.58 FIP), a 0.98 WHIP, 171 strikeouts and 45 walks in 31 starts (180 1/3 innings). He'll cost a pretty penny in fantasy drafts next spring. Hancock, on the other hand, has been very inconsistent and is sporting a 4.72 ERA and 1.30 WHIP with only 36 K's in 55 1/3 frames.

Tue Sep 24 202400:07Bryce Miller Fires Seven Scoreless Innings Monday
Seattle Mariners starting pitcher Bryce Miller continued his dominant second half in Monday's 6-1 win over the Astros. Miller pitched seven scoreless innings, allowing two hits and two walks with five strikeouts. The 26-year-old now has a stellar 2.94 ERA through 31 starts and 180 1/3 IP this season. This has been fueled by his 12 second-half starts, which have resulted in a 5-1 record with a 1.89 ERA, a 0.84 WHIP, and 73 strikeouts in 71 1/3 IP. He is slated to start the final game of the season against the Athletics, so fantasy managers should hopefully have one more opportunity for him to provide them with excellent results as the Mariners push for a playoff spot.

Tue Aug 27 202400:42Bryce Miller Fans 10 In Dominant Win Monday
Seattle Mariners starting pitcher Bryce Miller continued his stellar season in Monday's 5-1 win over the Rays. Miller pitched seven innings, allowing a single run on two hits (including a solo home run) and no walks while tying his season-high strikeout mark with 10. The 26-year-old has made encouraging strides in his sophomore season and is now 10-7 with a 3.23 ERA, an 8.54 K/9 rate, and a 1.97 BB/9 rate in 26 starts and 150 2/3 IP. He will draw another favorable matchup in his next start at the Angels, who have struck out more than any other team over the last 15 days.

Thu Aug 15 202418:38Bryce Miller Throws Gem But Picks Up No-Decision
Seattle Mariners right-hander Bryce Miller deserved much more than a no-decision on Thursday in an eventual 2-1 loss to the Detroit Tigers at Comerica Park. Miller dazzled by throwing seven shutout innings while giving up only two hits, walking none and striking out nine to drop his season ERA to 3.29. It continues to theme of the Mariners getting excellent outings from their starting pitchers, but with little run support from the offense. The 25-year-old Miller hasn't given up a run in his last two starts, spanning 13 innings, while striking out 15 and giving up only five hits. He's now 9-7 in 2024 with a 3.29 ERA, 1.00 WHIP, 128 strikeouts and only 31 walks in 139 2/3 innings pitched over 24 starts. Even in what sets up as a difficult matchup against the Los Angeles Dodgers next time out, Miller will be hard to keep out of fantasy lineups.
