Wed Jul 3015:18Alec Bohm Doing Baseball Activities
Philadelphia Phillies third baseman Alec Bohm (rib) was diagnosed with a left-rib fracture on July 19 and was placed on the 10-day injured list. Bohm is feeling better now, though, and ran, threw, took dry swings, hit off a practice tee and fielded ground balls on Tuesday before the game in Chicago against the White Sox, according to MLB.com. If Bohm can avoid a setback once he begins ramping up even further, he could come off the IL by mid-August, but he's likely going to require a minor-league rehab assignment first. For however much longer the 28-year-old remains out, rookie Otto Kemp should remain the team's primary third baseman. Although Bohm has hit a decent .278 (98-for-353) this year, he's been a disappointment overall with eight home runs and 42 RBI in 92 games after he was a first-time All-Star in 2024.

Sat Jul 1922:06Alec Bohm Placed on 10-Day Injured List
The Philadelphia Phillies have placed third baseman Alec Bohm (ribs) on the 10-day injured list with a fractured left rib and recalled infielder/outfielder Weston Wilson from Triple-A Lehigh Valley. Bohm suffered the injury on a hit by pitch last Saturday, causing him to miss two of the Phillies' three games since then. The 28-year-old played Friday, but he aggravated the injury during a loss to the Angels and could now miss a sizable chunk of time. While Edmundo Sosa, Otto Kemp, and Wilson are the in-house candidates to play third during Bohm's absence, the team does have the option of acquiring outside help before the July 31 trade deadline.

Sat Jul 1916:19Alec Bohm Aggravates Rib Injury
Philadelphia Phillies third baseman Alec Bohm (ribs) was left out of Saturday's lineup against the Los Angeles Angels. It turns out that Bohm reaggravated his bruised left rib cage in the team's 6-5 loss to the Angels on Friday, per Lochlahn March of the Philadelphia Inquirer. Manager Rob Thomson is unsure if Bohm will require a stint on the 10-day injured list. He'll now sit out for the second time in a three-game span dating back to last Sunday. Otto Kemp is playing third base and batting sixth with Bohm on the shelf Saturday.

Sat Jul 1914:35Alec Bohm Not Starting on Saturday
Philadelphia Phillies third baseman Alec Bohm (ribs) isn't starting against the Los Angeles Angels on Saturday. Otto Kemp will play third and bat sixth versus Angels left-hander Yusei Kikuchi. It's unclear if Bohm's absence is related to a rib injury that he dealt with before the All-Star break. Bohm missed the team's final game of the first half last Sunday before returning on Friday to go 0-for-4 in a 6-5 loss to the Halos. The 28-year-old has experienced a drop in power this season and put together an underwhelming .278/.324/.391 line with eight homers, 42 RBI, and 39 runs scored in 383 plate appearances.

Fri Jul 1816:06Alec Bohm Back From Rib Injury on Friday
Philadelphia Phillies third baseman Alec Bohm (ribs) is back at the hot corner and is batting cleanup for Friday's series opener against the visiting Los Angeles Angels and right-handed opener Ryan Zeferjahn to begin the second half of the season. A bruised left rib kept Bohm out for the final game of the first half of the season on Sunday, but after resting during the All-Star break, the 28-year-old is ready to roll to kick off the second half. There's a lot to be desired from a power standpoint from Bohm -- he only has eight homers in 349 at-bats -- but he's also batting .281 (98 hits) in one of the best lineups in baseball and has added 42 RBI. He's been hot so far in July, going 9-for-31 (.290) with a homer, triple, five RBI and six runs scored. Get Bohm back into your starting fantasy lineups, especially with the Angels rolling with a bullpen game.

Sun Jul 1314:20Alec Bohm Held Out on Sunday
Philadelphia Phillies third baseman Alec Bohm (rib) is out of the starting lineup ahead of Sunday's game against the San Diego Padres. Unsurprisingly, Bohm will take a seat after exiting early on Saturday due to a bruised left rib cage. This is the final game before the All-Star break, so it's not shocking to see the Phillies giving Bohm the day off. The hope is that he'll be ready to go following the break. In the meantime, Edmundo Sosa will bat eighth and play third base versus right-hander Nick Pivetta on Sunday. Fantasy managers should adjust their lineups ahead of first pitch.

Sun Jul 1308:12Alec Bohm Unlikely to Play on Sunday
Philadelphia Phillies third baseman Alec Bohm (ribs) is unlikely to play during Sunday's series finale against the San Diego Padres. Bohm was forced to make an early exit from Saturday's contest. He was hit by a pitch in the left ribs by Yu Darvish in the second inning. Bohm stayed a little longer, but was pulled out for Edmundo Sosa in the fourth inning. It doesn't sound like a major injury, but the issue could affect him swinging the bat. That being said, the Phillies are likely going to play it safe and rest Bohm with this being the last game before the All-Star break. If that happens, Bohm would have until July 18 to recover and get ready to play again. Sosa figures to draw the start at third base on Sunday.

Sat Jul 1221:34Alec Bohm Makes Early Exit on Saturday
Philadelphia Phillies third baseman Alec Bohm (ribs) was forced to make an early exit from Saturday's game against the San Diego Padres. Bohm was hit in the rib cage by a pitch from Yu Darvish in the second inning. He remained in the game for a few more innings until being replaced by Edmundo Sosa in the bottom of the fourth inning. Bohm is reportedly dealing with a bruised left rib cage, so he figures to sit out on Sunday. The expectation is that it's a day-to-day issue and Bohm should be ready to go following the All-Star break. Fantasy managers should check back on Sunday just in case he is available to play.

Wed Jul 212:13Alec Bohm Sitting for Matinee Wednesday
Philadelphia Phillies third baseman Alec Bohm is out of the team's lineup for the first game of their doubleheader with the San Diego Padres. Bohm had appeared in all but three games for the Phillies up until this point, so it seems to be just a routine day of rest. It'll be his first game off in over a month. The 28-year-old has been excellent since the start of May, batting .312 (64-for-205) with eight doubles, seven homers, 22 runs scored, and 19 RBI. Teammate Edmundo Sosa will cover the hot corner in his stead and bat eighth.

Mon Jun 1607:23Alec Bohm Hits Two-Run Home Run on Sunday
Philadelphia Phillies third baseman Alec Bohm had a big day in an 11-4 win over the Toronto Blue Jays on Sunday. Bohm went 2-for-3 with a homer, two walks, two runs, and three RBI in the win. The veteran infielder ripped a two-run homer in the fifth inning to give the Phillies a 6-2 lead. Bohm is now hitting .283 with seven homers, 29 runs, 31 RBI, and two steals across 265 at-bats on the season. He is in the midst of a hot streak, batting .357 with two homers and nine RBI over his past seven games. Bohm should be finding his way into starting lineups in fantasy while he's hot at the plate.

Thu Jun 1206:35Alec Bohm Homers, Drives in Four on Wednesday
Philadelphia Phillies third baseman Alec Bohm had a big game in a 7-2 win over the Chicago Cubs on Wednesday. Bohm went 2-for-4 with a homer and four RBI to help power the Phillies to the win. The veteran infielder hit a two-run single in the sixth inning and followed that up with a solo homer in the seventh. Bohm is now hitting .283 with six homers, 27 runs, 28 RBI, and two stolen bases across 254 at-bats this season. He has been heating up at the plate of late, batting .346 with seven RBI over his past seven games. While it would be nice to see more power out of Bohm in fantasy, he provides a steady bat in deeper leagues.

Tue May 2010:20Alec Bohm Blasts Home Run No. 3
Philadelphia Phillies third baseman Alec Bohm hit a key home run on Monday night to help his Phillies come back against the Rockies. Bohm went 2-for-5 in the first game of the team's stop at Coors Field with a run scored and two RBI. He turned a 3-2 deficit into a 4-3 lead with his two-run homer in the eighth inning off Seth Halvorsen, who was charged with a blown save and a loss. Bohm raised his average to .260 on the season to go with his three homers, six doubles, and one triple for a .340 wOBA. While he only has three homers all year, two have come in his last five games, and he's off to a strong start this month, hitting .339 with a .404 wOBA through 16 games in May

Sun Apr 612:37J.T. Realmuto, Alec Bohm Resting On Sunday
Philadelphia Phillies catcher J.T. Realmuto and third baseman Alec Bohm are both getting a day of rest for Sunday's series finale against the visiting Los Angeles Dodgers at Citizens Bank Park. Rafael Marchan is behind the plate and is batting ninth, while Edmundo Sosa is starting at third and batting seventh against Dodgers right-hander Tyler Glasnow. Both Realmuto and Bohm will get two days off with the Phillies' next game not coming until Tuesday at the division-rival Atlanta Braves. Realmuto has picked things up offensively the last five games, going 5-for-16 with an RBI, two runs and a stolen base. The 28-year-old Bohm will be out for the first time this year after starting the season just 7-for-35 with a double, three RBI, one walk and five strikeouts in eight games. Neither Sosa nor Marchan have ever faced Glasnow in their careers.

Wed Mar 1912:15Alec Bohm Back In Wednesday's Spring Lineup
Philadelphia Phillies third baseman Alec Bohm (foot) is back in the starting lineup for Wednesday's Grapefruit League game against the New York Yankees and is starting at third base and batting cleanup, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer's Lochlahn March. It will be Bohm's first game action since Saturday due to a bruised foot. The 28-year-old former third overall pick in 2018 out of Wichita State University was the subject of trade rumors in the offseason, but he will remain in Philly for now, where his fantasy value is the highest, especially if he's hitting in the heart of one of the best lineups in baseball. Bohm has been swinging a hot back in camp, too, batting .344 (11-for-32) with three home runs, three doubles, five RBI and 10 runs in 11 Grapefruit League games. While Bohm may not have high-end power for a third baseman, he hits for a high average and will have plenty of opportunities to drive in runs.

Mon Mar 1717:54Alec Bohm Could Play On Wednesday
Philadelphia Phillies third baseman Alec Bohm (foot) could return to the Grapefruit League lineup on Wednesday against the New York Yankees, according to MLB.com's Todd Zolecki. Bohm has been out since Saturday due to a bruised foot, but his injury isn't serious and he should be ready to go for Opening Day next Thursday, March 27, in D.C. against the division-rival Washington Nationals. A candidate to be traded in the offseason, the 28-year-old has stuck with Philly and is currently hitting a cool .344 (11-for-32) with three home runs, three doubles, five RBI and 10 runs scored in 11 Grapefruit League contests. He was a first-time All-Star in 2024 and finished with a .280/.332/.448 slash line, 15 home runs, 97 RBI, five steals and 62 runs in 143 games played. Bohm will need to hit fly balls to reward fantasy managers with more homers, but he hits the ball hard and is in the middle of one of the best lineups in baseball.

Thu Dec 5 202400:37Mariners Have Had Talks About Alec Bohm
The Seattle Mariners have at least had preliminary talks about acquiring All-Star third baseman Alec Bohm from the Philadelphia Phillies to fill their vacancy at the hot corner. However, Philadelphia's high asking price for Bohm has given Seattle pause. The Phillies have reportedly asked for one of the team's starters -- either Logan Gilbert or George Kirby -- in a package involving Bohm. Bohm hit .280 with 15 home runs and 97 RBI in the best season of his career in 2024, but he hit just .258 with 11 homers and 67 RBI after the first month of the season. For how much hard contact the 28-year-old right-handed slugger made, fantasy managers would have expected more power, with his playing-time volume and surrounding lineup carrying a lot of his value. While there's nothing to suggest the M's will actually trade for Bohm, a move to Seattle would be a downgrade in lineup and for the ballpark factor.

Mon Nov 25 202414:35Phillies, White Sox Have Discussed Alec Bohm, Garrett Crochet
The Philadelphia Phillies have spoken about third baseman Alec Bohm and outfield prospect Justin Crawford in extensive trade talks with the Chicago White Sox for left-handed starter Garrett Crochet, but the White Sox are worried about Bohm's second-half struggles in 2024 (.681 OPS with only four homers). If Philly is able to unload Bohm, they are expected to go after free-agent third baseman Alex Bregman, who is considered a good fit. Another option would be to sign shortstop Willy Adames and move him to the hot corner. Adding Crochet to a starting rotation that already includes Zack Wheeler, Aaron Nola, Ranger Suarez and ... Thu Oct 10 202422:14Phillies Unlikely To Move Alec Bohm
The Athletic's Matt Gelb thinks it's unlikely that the Philadelphia Phillies look to move third baseman Alec Bohm this offseason, especially since he still has two years left of club control. Bohm had a career-high 117 OPS+ in 2024, but he struggled down the stretch and after suffering a hand injury. The Phillies also like Aidan Miller, a 20-year-old prospect who reached Double-A at the end of the year. If Miller continues to progress, the Phillies could be content to let Bohm walk after the 2026 campaign. Manager Rob Thomson benched Bohm in Game 2 of the National League Division Series because of disappointment about his attitude. "I mean, I definitely wasn't my best self," Bohm said. "And it doesn't feel good. But it is what it is. It's a hard game. You're not always going to be getting hits and doing all those things. There's other ways to help the team win, and it just didn't happen."

Tue Oct 8 202416:01Alec Bohm Back In The Lineup For Game 3
After sitting out of the Game 2 win over the division-rival New York Mets in the National League Division Series on Sunday, Philadelphia Phillies third baseman Alec Bohm is back at the hot corner for Game 3 on Tuesday at Citi Field and is hitting fifth against Mets left-hander Sean Manaea. Bohm did enter Game 2 late and was hitless in two plate appearances. The 28-year-old had a fine 2024 season for the Phillies, but he's slumping at the plate at the worst time and has just two hits in 33 at-bats in his last nine games. He'll be hoping to snap out of his funk against Manaea, who he has gone 2-for-10 against in his career with a home run, two RBI and three strikeouts. In 179 plate appearances against lefties in 2024, Bohm hit .287 with six of his 15 home runs. Just based on how Bohm has been swinging the lumber lately, fantasy managers setting DFS lineups will probably want to avoid him.

Sun Oct 6 202412:53Alec Bohm Riding Pine In Game 2
Philadelphia Phillies third baseman Alec Bohm is not in the starting nine of Game 2 of the NLDS. Instead, Edmundo Sosa will get the nod at the hot corner and bat in the eight-hole. Bohm went 0-for-4 in yesterday's match and will take a seat on Sunday afternoon. Sosa has carried a .214/.324/.393 line across his past 12 games. He will face New York right-hander Luis Severino, who was able to win his last start in the Wild Card Series against the Milwaukee Brewers by tossing six frames of three-run ball. Sosa remains a high-risk option in DFS this afternoon, given his inconsistencies this summer and lack of power.
