Thu Jul 3114:13Luis Robert Jr. More Likely to Stay With White Sox
The Chicago White Sox have spoken to a number of teams regarding outfielder Luis Robert Jr. leading up to Thursday's MLB trade deadline, but sources tell MLB.com's Mark Feinsand that Robert is more likely to stay with the Sox. Chicago would likely pick up his $20 million option for the 2026 season and hope for more of what they've seen over the last month before potentially trading him in 2026. Feinsand adds that other teams liked Robert, but not enough to meet the White Sox's asking price. Robert's two $20 million team options in 2026 and 2027 also complicate matters, as some suitors could look at him as just a rental. A trade to a contender would certainly boost La Pantera's fantasy value in 2025. The Cuban slugger is hitting just .213 on the year with 11 homers, but he also has 27 steals and is hitting .353 with three homers, 11 RBI and five steals in 15 games in July. He's still very much a fantasy asset.

Thu Jul 3110:38Padres Emerge as Favorite in Luis Robert Jr. Sweepstakes
Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert Jr. remains one of the biggest names likely to move at the trade deadline. While the Mets and Phillies are still in play, the Padres have emerged as the top contender. San Diego is looking to boost its outfield, with Robert a potential upgrade over struggling veteran Jason Heyward (.176 AVG). Despite batting just .213, Robert is getting on base with a career-best 10.5% walk rate. He'd be a dynamic addition alongside Fernando Tatis Jr. and Manny Machado. Fantasy managers should stash him now ahead of a potential move to a contender.

Wed Jul 3018:19Mets, Phillies Frontrunners for Luis Robert Jr.
Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert Jr. has been one of the hottest names during the upcoming trade deadline. There have been a handful of teams reportedly interested in acquiring Robert ahead of Thursday's deadline. However, the New York Mets and Philadelphia Phillies are reportedly the frontrunners to acquire Robert. It hasn't been a great year at the plate for Robert, but he does have a .926 OPS in July. The 27-year-old is heating up at the right time. He brings a good combination of speed and power that would be a nice fit for both the Phillies and Mets lineup.

Wed Jul 3000:58Mets Have Been Aggressive in Luis Robert Jr. Trade Talks
MLB.com's Mark Feinsand reported Tuesday that the New York Mets have emerged as "the frontrunner" in trade talks for Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert Jr. The Padres and Phillies are among other teams with supposed interest in the 27-year-old. Robert Jr. struggled last season and has continued to do so this season, although he is a former All-Star and has stepped up his offensive production lately. Feinsand reported that second baseman Luisangel Acuna has been discussed as a potential part of a Mets-White Sox deal. Any change of scenery would be beneficial for Robert Jr. from a fantasy perspective, especially to a strong lineup like the Mets. For Acuna, the lineup would be a clear downgrade, but it would potentially present an opportunity for more routine playing time.

Sun Jul 2718:52Luis Robert Jr. Avoids Significant Injury
Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert Jr. (forearm) appears to have avoided any major injuries after getting hit by a pitch during Sunday's game against the Chicago Cubs. Robert made his return to the lineup on Sunday after missing the two previous games due to a groin issue. He took a fastball off the forearm in the ninth inning, but luckily the X-rays came back negative for any fractures. It wouldn't be shocking to see Robert get off a game or two. There has been plenty of speculation that Robert could be traded at the deadline next week. Possibly, the White Sox hold him out until then to avoid anymore injuries.

Sun Jul 2714:08Luis Robert Jr. Returning on Sunday
Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert Jr. (groin) is back in the starting lineup ahead of Sunday's game against the Chicago Cubs. Robert will make his return to the lineup after missing each of the last two games due to a groin issue. He's not quite ready to play the outfield again, but will serve as the designated hitter and bat seventh versus right-hander Ben Brown. Robert has been on a hot streak at the plate, batting .375 with 12 hits, two home runs, nine RBI, and four steals over the last nine games. Fantasy managers should make sure to get him in their lineups ahead of first pitch.

Sun Jul 2710:35White Sox Want Mark Vientos for Luis Robert Jr.
If the Chicago White Sox are going to trade outfielder Luis Robert Jr. to the New York Mets, they're going to want third baseman/designated hitter Mark Vientos in return, according to Bob Nightengale of USA Today. The Mets are known to have interest in Robert, who has struggled this year but is currently enjoying his best month of the season as the White Sox prepare to deal him. Robert has gone 13-for-37 with two homers, nine RBI, 10 runs scored, and four stolen bases in July. Acquiring the former All-Star would take care of the Mets' need for a righty-hitting outfielder. However, it's unclear whether they're willing to give up the 25-year-old Vientos to make it happen. Vientos burst on the scene with 27 home runs last season, but he has fallen short of expectations in 2025. Over 279 plate appearances, Vientos has hit .226/.280/.358 with six homers, 27 RBI, and 22 runs scored.

Sat Jul 2621:20Phillies Linked to Luis Robert Jr.
Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert Jr. (groin) remains out of the starting lineup for the second straight game on Saturday. The 27-year-old is dealing with a groin issue that will force him to miss the second game of this Crosstown Classic. Honestly, it might be best for Robert to rest and avoid any more injuries with his trade value heating up. The Philadelphia Phillies are reportedly closely monitoring Robert right now. Robert is having a down year, but was swinging the bat well before the injury. This season, Robert is slashing .206/.293/.343 with 10 home runs, 41 RBI, and 26 steals in 84 games. Clearly not great numbers, but there are not a ton of big-time hitters available at the trade deadline this year. Robert figures to gain more trade traction over the next week.

Fri Jul 2516:10Luis Robert Jr. Out on Friday With Groin Tightness
Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert Jr. (groin), who is firmly on the trade block with the July 31 deadline approaching, is out of the starting lineup for Friday's series opener against the Chicago Cubs with groin tightness, per Jesse Rogers of ESPN. Michael Taylor is playing center field for the Pale Hose and will hit eighth against Cubs left-hander Shota Imanaga. The 27-year-old Cuban outfielder is still hitting barely over the Mendoza Line this year in 286 at-bats, but he's in the midst of a nine-game hitting streak, which certainly helps his trade value. It makes his latest lower-body ailment even more frustrating for the White Sox and fantasy managers. As long as his hamstring injury doesn't land him on the injured list, there's still a pretty good chance he'll be deal. If Robert can keep swinging the bat well and lands with a contender, his fantasy stock could go up considerably the rest of the season.

Fri Jul 2509:23Mets Eyeing Luis Robert Jr. at the Trade Deadline
The New York Mets are among the handful of teams to have checked in on White Sox outfielder Luis Robert Jr., Pat Ragazzo reports. The Mets find themselves in the driver's seat in the NL East, currently half a game ahead of the Philadelphia Phillies. Their outfield consists of Brandon Nimmo, Juan Soto, Tyrone Taylor, and Jeff McNeil. The most significant trend with those four names is that three of the four are left-handed hitters, meaning the Mets could be in the market for a right-handed bat. Robert has struggled mightily in 2025, slashing .206/.293/.343 with 10 home runs, 41 RBI, 37 runs scored, and 26 stolen bases. He also strikes out at an ugly 29 percent clip, which ranks in the seventh percentile. All that being said, he has slashed .351/.442/.541 in July, so it appears he may have found something at the plate of late. Robert's fantasy outlook if he were to be traded to the Mets would likely result in a slight downgrade, considering he would likely bat lower in the lineup and not play every day.

Thu Jul 1708:42Luis Robert Jr.'s Market Shaping Up
Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert Jr. is getting plenty of attention ahead of the MLB trade deadline and could be one of the best bats available to teams shopping for offense. MLB Network's Jon Heyman reported that eight teams have interest in Robert, who will be looking to bounce back after a tough first half. Heyman listed the Phillies, Dodgers, Padres, Royals, and Mets as potential fits, and he mentioned that some teams think he'll be able to regain his form as a complementary player instead of the primary offensive option. Robert flashed huge upside as both a power and speed threat earlier in his career but struggled with multiple injuries and slumps over the last few seasons. He is slashing just .190/.275/.325 in 79 games this year with nine home runs, 22 stolen bases, and a .265 wOBA. He still is a dynamic talent, so it's no surprise that teams will check in on the price for Robert since he brings such a high ceiling if he bounces back.

Sun Jul 1321:12Luis Robert Jr. Drawing Recent Interest From Eight Teams
Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert Jr. has been checked on by eight teams recently regarding potential trades, reports Jon Heyman of The New York Post. Some teams that look like potential fits are the Phillies, Dodgers, Padres, Royals, and Mets. While Robert was once considered to be one of the next young superstars, his career has turned into more of an injury-plagued disappointment since. This season, he is slashing just .190/.275/.325 with nine home runs and 22 stolen bases in 79 games. It's possible that the potential suitors for the 27-year-old think they can fix him, especially if his price on the trade market comes at a discount.

Tue Jul 816:19Luis Robert Jr. Activated, Batting Sixth on Tuesday
The Chicago White Sox announced that they have reinstated outfielder Luis Robert Jr. (hamstring) from the 10-day injured list and optioned infielder Tristan Gray to Triple-A Charlotte. Robert missed the last two weeks with a strained left hamstring. He's returning Tuesday to start in center field and bat sixth against Toronto Blue Jays right-hander Chris Bassitt. Now that he's back, Robert could be an interesting player to watch as we draw closer to the July 31 trade deadline. While Robert did come up in the rumor mill before his IL stint, his trade value is likely in the tank. The 27-year-old has batted a career-worst .185/.270/.313 with eight home runs, 32 RBI, 27 runs scored, and a 30.9% strikeout rate in 285 plate appearances. On the positive side, with 22 stolen bases, Robert is just one away from tying a career high.

Mon Jul 723:54Luis Robert Jr. Returning in Short Order
Per MLB.com's Scott Merkin, Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert Jr. (hamstring) should return within the next couple of days if "all goes well." The 27-year-old was placed on the 10-day injured list a few weeks ago, but has progressed well from a hamstring strain that ailed him -- a notoriously tricky injury. Whether he'll make it back for the final game of Chicago's home series with the Toronto Blue Jays on Wednesday remains to be seen, but it shouldn't be too long after that, barring any setbacks. He's had a rough go to start the season, hitting a paltry .185 (.583 OPS) with a 30.9% strikeout rate. However, there's hope for a rebound, considering Robert Jr. has grossly underperformed a .232 expected batting average.

Wed Jul 221:46Luis Robert Jr. Takes Batting Practice
Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert Jr. (hamstring) took batting practice and did some pregame running before the club's contest against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Wednesday. Robert hasn't played since last Tuesday because of a strained left hamstring. The injury forced him to the 10-day IL on June 26, continuing a brutal start to the season for the former All-Star. Robert has batted a personal-worst .185/.270/.313 with eight homers, 32 RBI, and 27 runs scored over 285 plate appearances. The lone bright spot has been his work on the bases, as Robert has already tallied 22 steals. He's just one swipe away from tying the career-high 23 he amassed last year.

Sun Jun 2914:16Luis Robert Jr. Heads to Injured List
Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert Jr. (hamstring) has been placed on the 10-day injured list ahead of Sunday's game against the San Francisco Giants. Robert was pulled from Wednesday's game due to a hamstring issue. He has been unable to play since then, so the White Sox have decided to place him on the injured list. The White Sox didn't call-up anyone prior to Sunday's game, so a corresponding move will be made later. Michael A. Taylor will cover center field on Sunday and figures to see more action out there going forward. Robert is in the middle of a bad slump at the plate, so maybe some time off will help him get back on track.

Sun Jun 2912:52White Sox to Decide on Monday if Luis Robert Jr. Goes on Injured List
The Chicago White Sox will reassess how outfielder Luis Robert Jr. (hamstring) feels on Monday and make the decision whether he'll return to the starting lineup for Tuesday's series opener against the Los Angeles Dodgers or land on the 10-day injured list, according to MLB.com's Scott Merkin. Robert is out of the lineup for the third straight game in Sunday's series finale against the visiting San Francisco Giants after he was pulled from Wednesday's game against the Arizona Diamondbacks with tightness in his left hamstring. Michael Taylor will make another start in center field and will bat eighth on Sunday against Giants right-hander Justin Verlander, and he will see even more playing time going into the All-Star break if Robert goes on the IL. Robert has 22 steals in 249 at-bats this year but is hitting just .185 with eight homers. It's unclear how this injury might affect his trade value with the July 31 deadline approaching.

Sat Jun 2814:16Luis Robert Jr. Remains Out on Saturday
Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert Jr. (hamstring) is not in Saturday's lineup against San Francisco Giants left-hander Robbie Ray. Robert hasn't played since leaving early in Wednesday's 7-3 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks with tightness in his hamstring. It's unknown whether he'll require a trip to the injured list. For now, the White Sox will go with Michael A. Taylor in center. He's batting seventh against Ray, who has been one of the NL's top starters this year.

Fri Jun 2716:32Luis Robert Jr. Out on Friday
Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert Jr. (hamstring) will not start in Friday's series opener against the visiting San Francisco Giants. Michael Taylor will make the start in center field for the Pale Hose and will bat ninth against Giants right-hander Landen Roupp. Robert was pulled early from Wednesday's series finale against the Arizona Diamondbacks with tightness in his hamstring and will not return to action despite having an off day on Thursday. Given his history with lower-body injuries, fantasy managers should not be surprised if the 27-year-old outfielder is held out through the All-Star break in mid-July. The Cuban slugger does have 22 steals in 249 at-bats this year, but he's struggled immensely otherwise with a .185/.270/.313 slash line and a .584 OPS. He's one of the most likely trade candidates this summer, but his hamstring injury isn't helping matters for the White Sox.

Wed Jun 2518:34Luis Robert Jr. Considered Day-to-Day
Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert Jr. (hamstring) was forced to make an early exit from Wednesday's game against the Arizona Diamondbacks. Robert was taken out of the contest in the first inning due to left hamstring tightness. Luckily, Robert appears to have avoided serious injury and is currently considered day-to-day. The 27-year-old has been struggling with the bat, so maybe a few days off might be helpful. The expectation is that Michael A. Taylor and Austin Slater will see increased playing time while Robert is sidelined.
