Mon Aug 11 | 20:21 | Evan Carter Could Start Rehab Assignment on Tuesday |
Texas Rangers outfielder Evan Carter (back) took live batting practice on Monday and could start a minor-league rehab assignment as early as Tuesday, according to MLB.com's Kennedi Landry. Barring a setback with his back, it's possible that Carter could rejoin the big-league team this weekend or early next week. When he returns, the 22-year-old left-handed hitter should at least be on the strong side of a platoon in center field against right-handed pitchers, moving Wyatt Langford back to left field on a daily basis. Carter is a former second-round pick and has the ability to make noise in all fantasy categories, but he's had a tough time staying on the field for long periods of time due to injuries. He has played in a career-high 55 games in 2025 and is hitting .238 (40-for-168) with four home runs, 21 RBI, 12 steals and 27 runs scored in 189 trips to the plate. |

Sun Aug 10 | 16:11 | Evan Carter to Take Batting Practice Monday |
Texas Rangers outfielder Evan Carter (back) is expected to take batting practice against pitchers on Monday, according to the team. After one or two more batting practices in the ensuing days, he'll likely embark on a rehab assignment. Carter has been out for just over a week after going on the 10-day injured list with back spasms on Aug. 2. He was on the IL earlier in the season with a quad strain and has only appeared in 55 games as a result of his injuries. Across 189 plate appearances, Carter has hit an unspectacular .238/.323/.381 with four homers, 21 RBI, 27 runs, and 12 stolen bases. |

Wed Aug 6 | 16:30 | Evan Carter Hopes to Ramp Things Up After Receiving Injection |
Texas Rangers outfielder Evan Carter (back) said he had an injection in his back and is hoping to ramp things up as early as this Friday, according to Jeff Wilson of DLLS Sports. Back spasms sent Carter to the 10-day injured list last weekend, but the 22-year-old is hoping he can rejoin the big-league squad sooner than later. Back issues are nothing new for the young outfielder, so it's something to watch the rest of the season. The Rangers have moved Wyatt Langford to center field with Carter out, which has opened up playing time for both Alejandro Osuna and Sam Haggerty in left field. Carter can contribute across the board for fantasy managers when he's right, but he's proven injury-prone early in his career. He has hit .238/.323/.381 with a .704 OPS, four homers, 21 RBI, 27 runs and 12 stolen bases for Texas in 2025 in a career-high 55 games. |

Sat Aug 2 | 16:07 | Evan Carter Placed on 10-Day Injured List |
The Texas Rangers announced that they have placed outfielder Evan Carter (back) on the 10-day injured list with back spasms and recalled fellow outfielder Alejandro Osuna from Triple-A Round Rock. Carter is heading to the IL for the second time this year after previously sitting out the end of May with a quad strain. The 22-year-old has dealt with a laundry list of injuries in his career, including a lumbar sprain last season, and his health issues have prevented him from realizing his potential. Carter has appeared in just 55 games this season and hit .238/.323/.381 with four homers, 21 RBI, 27 runs, and 12 steals over 189 plate appearances. Wyatt Langford is starting in center in Carter's place on Saturday against Seattle Mariners right-hander Luis Castillo. Osuna is playing left field, and Adolis Garcia is in right. |

Sat Aug 2 | 14:53 | Evan Carter Sitting Saturday, Could Land on 10-Day Injured List |
Texas Rangers outfielder Evan Carter (back) is dealing with back spasms and will not play Saturday against the Seattle Mariners, according to Kennedi Landry of MLB.com. Carter may head to the 10-day injured list, but the Rangers haven't made a decision yet. This is a concerning issue for Carter, who has a history of back problems and missed most of the 2024 season with a lumbar sprain. The 22-year-old was on the IL earlier this season with a quad strain and has batted a modest .238/.323/.381 with four homers, 21 RBI, 27 runs scored, and 12 stolen bases in a career-high 189 plate appearances. Carter was highly productive in June, but he has gone just 12-for-69 (.174) with no home runs in 22 games since July 4. |

Fri Jul 4 | 17:31 | Evan Carter Back With Rangers on Friday |
Texas Rangers outfielder Evan Carter was reinstated from the bereavement list on Friday and is starting in center field and batting fifth in the series opener at Petco Park against the San Diego Padres and right-hander Randy Vasquez. Carter has struggled against lefties and has been injury-prone in his short time in the big leagues. However, the 22-year-old former second-rounder in 2020 has been quite attractive in fantasy when he's been hot, which has been the case when he's been on the field in 2025. He comes into Friday's action with a .283/.372/.444 slash line, an .816 OPS, four home runs, 11 RBI, 17 runs and eight stolen bases in 99 at-bats. Carter has gone 26-for-91 (.286) with all four of his home runs and all 11 of his RBI against right-handed pitching this year. You could do much worse than inserting him into your DFS lineups against Vasquez. |

Tue Jul 1 | 18:22 | Evan Carter Placed on Bereavement List |
Texas Rangers outfielder Evan Carter (personal) has been placed on the bereavement list, so he'll miss the next few games. Carter is currently away from the team while attending his grandfather's funeral. His exact return date is unclear, but the expectation is that he'll be back before Friday's series opener against the San Diego Padres. Billy McKinney will take over the active roster spot for a few days. In the meantime, Alejandro Osuna, Adolis Garcia, and Sam Haggerty will cover the outfield for Tuesday's game against the Baltimore Orioles. |

Mon Jun 30 | 17:31 | Evan Carter Out Due to Personal Reasons |
Texas Rangers outfielder Evan Carter (personal) is absent from the team's lineup for Monday's series opener against the visiting Baltimore Orioles due to personal reasons, according to MLB.com's Kennedi Landry. Michael Helman will draw the start in center field and will bat ninth against Orioles left-hander Trevor Rogers. Fantasy managers will want to check back on Tuesday to see if Carter is back for Game 2 of the series. The 22-year-old left-handed-hitting outfielder usually sits against southpaws, but he's on the strong side of a platoon in center for Texas and has swung the bat well in 99 at-bats in 2025, hitting .283/.372/.444 with an .816 OPS, four home runs, 11 RBI, 17 runs and eight stolen bases. Carter's power/speed upside makes him fantasy relevant in most leagues. Helman will be playing in just his 11th big-league game and second with the Rangers in 2025. UPDATE: Carter is at his grandfather's funeral and is expected back on Wednesday. He will not go on the bereavement list. |

Mon Jun 30 | 13:16 | Evan Carter Swipes Two Bags |
Texas Rangers outfielder Evan Carter went 3-for-4 with a double and two steals in his team's 6-4 loss to the visiting Seattle Mariners. He also singled twice, scored a run, and drew a walk. Carter has heated up to close out the month, notching a hit in seven straight appearances with three multi-hit efforts in that span. He's chipped in three steals during the streak, too, and has been much more productive in June with a .333/.421/.530 through 66 at-bats. The former top prospect's strikeout rate has significantly improved so far, posting a near-ten-point drop from the undesirable 26.5% he sported in 2024 (15.9%). |

Sun Jun 15 | 13:24 | Evan Carter Starting on Sunday |
Texas Rangers outfielder Evan Carter (writ) is back in the starting nine on Sunday when the Rangers conclude a series against the Chicago White Sox. Carter was removed from Friday's game after suffering a wrist injury. While he was not expected to return this weekend, he was able to progress enough to get the nod in the series finale. Prior to his injury, the former top prospect was beginning to heat up at the plate, posting a stellar .556/.636/1.167 line with two doubles and three long balls over his last five contests. This afternoon, Carter will start in center field and bat in the five-hole. This afternoon, Carter and the Rangers are a strong play in DFS facing Chicago White Sox right-hander Aaron Civale. Civale enters this game holding a high 4.91 ERA. |

Sat Jun 14 | 13:14 | Evan Carter Out of Saturday's Lineup |
Texas Rangers outfielder Evan Carter (wrist) is not in Saturday's lineup when the Rangers continue a series against the Chicago White Sox. Carter was removed from Friday's game after suffering a wrist injury. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status leading up to Sunday's game. This afternoon, the Rangers will give Wyatt Langford the start in center field, which will open left field for Sam Haggerty. Carter has begun to heat up at the plate following his rough start to the season. Over his last five games, the former top prospect has posted a stellar .556/.636/1.167 slash line with two doubles, three home runs, and two stolen bases. This afternoon, the Rangers are a viable target in DFS as they face Chicago right-hander Mike Vasil. |

Fri Jun 13 | 22:31 | Evan Carter Leaves Early With Wrist Soreness |
Texas Rangers outfielder Evan Carter (wrist), who made an excellent diving catch in the fourth inning against the Chicago White Sox, left the game early with wrist soreness and will be re-evaluated, according to The Dallas Morning News' Evan Grant. Wyatt Langford shifted from left to center field to replace Carter, with Sam Haggerty entering the game in left field. Before leaving, Carter went 0-for-2 with a walk. It's not what fantasy managers want to hear, as the 22-year-old entered Friday's series opener against Chicago with a four-game hitting streak in which he went 10-for-16 with three home runs, two doubles, seven RBI, two steals and seven runs scored. The former second-rounder got a late start in 2025 due to injury and only played in 45 games in 2024 because of a serious back ailment. Carter has the ability to contribute across all categories when healthy. Stay tuned for the severity of his injury. UPDATE: "It's just a little sore. We don't think it's serious or anything. He could play tomorrow. We'll see. But more likely, he'll get a day off to see if we can get that calmed down," manager Bruce Bochy said. |

Thu Jun 12 | 19:50 | Evan Carter Continues to Swing the Bat Well |
Texas Rangers outfielder Evan Carter stayed hot in Thursday's 16-3 lopsided win at Target Field over the Minnesota Twins, going 2-for-4 with a solo home run, two RBI, two runs scored, a stolen base and a walk. Carter didn't make his 2025 debut until May 6 due to injury but has made up for lost time and is now hitting .293 with a .903 OPS on the year thanks to four straight multi-hit games in which he's gone 10-for-16 with three home runs, five extra-base hits and two steals. The 22-year-old left-handed-hitting outfielder is en fuego, as they say. It's still a small sample size in 2025 for Carter and he's only faced left-handers five times, but the big takeaway is that he's swinging the bat well and is healthy. At the very least, Carter will be on the strong side of a platoon in the outfield in Texas against righties and can provide a valuable power/speed combo in all fantasy leagues if he can stay healthy. |

Wed Jun 11 | 01:49 | Evan Carter Posts Three More Hits |
Texas Rangers outfielder Evan Carter went 3-for-5 with a home run and three RBI in his team's 16-4 win against the Minnesota Twins. The Tennessee native also drew a walk, singled twice, and scored four runs in the rout. Carter homered for the second time in as many games when he blasted his third of the season -- a two-run shot -- off Twins' reliever Justin Topa in the top of the sixth inning. That'd make it 10-3 Rangers, but Carter wasn't done yet -- singling home teammate Corey Seager to drive in his third run of the contest two innings later. The 22-year-old has three hits in back-to-back outings and logged another two batted balls in excess of 100 MPH. He's scored and plated five runs over the last two games, and the recent hot stretch has brought his average up to .255 (13-for-51) through 17 appearances. |

Mon Jun 9 | 12:49 | Evan Carter Tallies Three Hits in Victory |
Texas Rangers outfielder Evan Carter went 3-for-4 with a two-run home run in Sunday's 4-2 win over the Washington Nationals. The former second-round pick added a single and a double for his first three-hit game of the season. He put the Rangers up 2-0 in the top of the second, blasting a Trevor Williams fastball -- a 382-foot, two-run bomb -- over the right-field wall. It was the second time he's gone yard, and the first in nearly a month (May 10). Injuries have been an issue for Carter, but he flashed his upside down the stretch in 2023 ahead of the Rangers' World Series win. The 22-year-old hasn't regained that form, though all three of his hits on Sunday registered at greater than 90 MPH off the bat. That could be enough for him to start to heat up. |

Tue Jun 3 | 17:28 | Evan Carter Activated and Starting Against Rays |
The Texas Rangers announced on Tuesday that they activated outfielder Evan Carter (quadriceps) from the 10-day injured list. Catcher Tucker Barnhart, who was designated for assignment on Sunday, elected free agency. Carter is starting in center field on Tuesday and is hitting eighth against Tampa Bay Rays right-hander Drew Rasmussen. After three minor-league rehab games with Triple-A Round Rock, Carter is returning from a Grade 2 quadriceps strain that has kept him out since May 16. The 22-year-old former second-round pick in 2020 burst onto the scene late in 2023 and hit .306 (19-for-62) with five homers and 12 RBI in 23 regular-season games before helping the Rangers win the World Series that fall. He played in just 45 games last year, though, due to injuries and had gone 6-for-33 (.182) with a homer and three RBI before his quad injury. Carter should at least be in the strong side of a platoon in center for Texas. |

Thu May 29 | 15:29 | Evan Carter to go on Rehab Assignment This Weekend |
Texas Rangers outfielder Evan Carter (quadriceps) did some sprinting on Wednesday, in addition to other baseball activities he has been doing this week, according to MLB.com. Carter is scheduled to start a minor-league rehab assignment this weekend as he recovers from a Grade 2 strained right quadriceps that landed him on the 10-day injured list on May 18. The 22-year-old left-handed hitter impressed after a late-season call-up in 2023 on his way to helping the Rangers win the World Series that fall, but he played in just 45 games due to a back injury in 2024 and started this year in the minors. In 11 games before going back on the IL, Carter went 6-for-33 (.182) with a homer, three RBI and three steals for Texas. He should at least see regular at-bats against righties when he returns from his injury. In the meantime, Alejandro Osuna and Sam Haggerty should continue splitting time in the outfield. |

Sat May 17 | 20:21 | Evan Carter Dealing with Quadriceps Injury |
Texas Rangers outfielder Evan Carter (quadriceps) was scratched from Saturday's lineup due to right quad tightness. According to Kennedi Landry of MLB.com, Carter is not going to play tomorrow, facing a lefty, and will have additional time to heal leading up to Tuesday's game against the New York Yankees. Carter was unable to make the Opening Day roster but was recalled to the majors earlier in May. Through his first 11 games of the regular season, the former top prospect has posted an underwhelming .182/.270/.273 slash line with one long ball. Under the hood, he has generated a low .308 xwOBA and a .227 xBA, which are both below the average marks. Given his slow start to the season, fantasy managers should only roster Carter in deeper AL-only formats. |

Mon May 12 | 09:32 | Evan Carter Has A Productive Sunday At The Plate |
Texas Rangers' young outfielder Evan Carter had a nice afternoon on Sunday, as he went 2-for-5 with one run scored, one RBI, and a stolen base. The stolen base was his first of the season, and something to keep an eye on as Carter swiped 26 bases in the MiLB in 2023, and six in his 21 games played in Triple-A in 2025. Since getting promoted to the MLB on May 6, Carter has slashed .273/.273/.409 in 22 plate appearances. This is encouraging for Carter and those who own him in dynasty formats, as his rookie campaign showed much promise in 2023, when he slashed .306/.413/.645 in 75 plate appearances. 2024 was a different story (.188/.272/.361), and he started 2025 in Triple-A. Carter will look to continue his nice seven-day stretch as the Rangers head home to take on the Colorado Rockies in a three-game series. |

Fri May 9 | 17:31 | Corey Seager, Evan Carter Out Against A Lefty |
Texas Rangers shortstop Corey Seager and outfielder Evan Carter are both out of Friday's series opener in Detroit against the Tigers and tough left-hander Tarik Skubal. Josh Smith is starting at shortstop and is hitting seventh, while Sam Haggerty is patrolling center field and batting leadoff. Fantasy managers should be on the lookout for more news on Seager, as he was also out in Thursday's series finale against the Boston Red Sox. This will be his second straight missed game. Smith is hitting over .300 on the year for Texas but is an easy DFS fade at the bottom of the lineup in a tough lefty-lefty matchup. Haggerty will be making his debut with the Rangers after going 1-for-15 in eight games for the Seattle Mariners in 2024. Even in the leadoff spot, he's not much to look at for DFS. Smith is 0-for-3 in his career against Skubal, while Haggerty is just 0-for-1. |
